El Presidente de la República, Ollanta Humala Tasso, participó esta mañana en la presentación del programa “Maquinarias para el Desarrollo” del Ministerio de Construcción, Vivienda y Saneamiento.
A través de esta iniciativa se ha adquirido un pool de maquinaria (excavadoras sobre orugas, tractores y cargadores frontales) y equipos para realizar trabajos de prevención y atención de emergencias en materia de descolmatación y encausamiento de cuencas, así como en saneamiento, evitando así situaciones que pongan en peligro a la población, sus viviendas y la infraestructura de saneamiento.
El Jefe de Estado estará acompañado en esta actividad por el Ministro de Vivienda, Construcción y Saneamiento, René Cornejo.

Population Services International (PSI) Laos is actively working in malaria-prone regions such as Attapeu to raise awareness about, test for, treat and prevent the disease.
PSI provides malaria control support to national Ministries of Health in over 30 countries worldwide. PSI tailors its malaria control programs to the unique environment in each country and the needs of the Ministry of Health in line with achieving the Abuja Targets and Millennium Development Goals. PSI’s malaria control programs include delivery of insecticide treated mosquito nets, pre-packaged malaria treatment, behavior change communications, and operational research.

During a Native American history-themed sleepover at the National Archives in Washington, DC, 101 kids and their grown-ups spent the night enjoying history-related activities, learning from special guests actor Martin Sensmeier, Jim Thorpe historians Bob Wheeler and Flo Ridlon, and Native American storyteller Perry Ground. After sleeping over night in the Rotunda, participants enjoyed a pancake breakfast made by the Archivist of the United States, David S. Ferriero, on October 14, 2018.
