To stem the exodus from the Holy Land and more specifically from Israel, the FFHL is holding the ‘educational doors of opportunity’ open for the Christian community in the Holy Land. The Franciscan Foundation pays for 4 years of college including tuition and books for economically marginalized students who maintain a B average throughout high school. These scholarship grants are available to any student from any Christian denomination wishing to apply for a four year college program. The winners of the scholarship grants are chosen by the FFHL Scholarship Board made up of four professors residing in the U.S.

Each student selected must show a letter of acceptance from the university they are planning to attend and once that is validated, they can begin studies in the fall and payment for their school tuition commences.

The first mile of the SR 509 Expressway in SeaTac, WA is clearly visible in this aerial photo that looks northwest.

On the far right, where orange construction barrels are visible, is a new flyover ramp from northbound I-5 to the expressway, which leads to the new starting point of SR 509.

In the middle, below the future northbound lanes, are the southbound lanes that will connect drivers to I-5. And to the left of that are the tracks for the Federal Way Link light rail.

This portion of construction builds the first mile of the expressway to 24th Avenue South which is visible in the distance, beyond the elevated portion of the light rail line.

The next stage of construction will continue SR 509 to South 188th Street near the southwest corner of Sea-Tac Airport.

The SR 509 Completion project is part of the Puget Sound Gateway program which completes critical missing links in Washington state's highway and freight network.
