I’m trying to get looser in my work. Chaos does not come naturally to me. I did a series of three action paintings all in one sitting. I was happy with the first and last, they are presented here As Action Painting #3 and action Painting #5. They were all done in the same Photoshop file so I was also able to combine them as layers in different combinations. One of those is also presented here.
Struggling to get out of only trying for likeness n forgetting about form, values, colours n simplification, improving which are my current goals.

For this image, I started with Photoshop CC, I then took it to Procreate (an iPad app). I made my Procreate image into a color overlay on the Photoshop image. After adding textures. I used Topaz Glow. The glow was a bit much, so I reduced the opacity of that layer and erased some of it, leaving the layer below show through.
