These two were going at it for a good long time. The photo's rotated 180° from normal to draw focus more to the butterfly itself, instead of its naughty behaviour ;)
This time leaning toward unfinished instead of overdone. Made with two charcoal marking tools from a new set of 8 "brushes" that I added to Procreate.
This is my first Zia using the iPad App Procreate. What a challenge!! I must be MUCH slower and more deliberate with each stroke.
I have a lot to learn but am pleased with this first attempt.

I had this idea that I could 'throw together' a very complex piece quickly for a show if I kept it digital. I was wrong. I gave up on this and completed an acrylic paint WIP instead. But some of what came out of the digital process was interesting so here's some of what I did before stopping.
