The Glasgow Gurdwaras Procession, or Nagar Kirtan, is a Sikh religious procession where the community parades through the city streets, singing hymns and celebrating the Sikh festival Vaisakhi, marking the start of the Sikh new year. Hundreds of participants made their way from the Gurdwara Guru Granth Sahib on the south side of the city to the west end visiting other Gurdwaras on route.
Oriel Myrddin Gallery joined with thousands of women in Cardiff on Sunday 10 June 2018 to march in celebration of 100 years of votes for women.
We worked with an inter-generational group of women, including young women from Dr Mz's youth project in Carmarthen, and artist Rhiannon Williams to create our warrior butterfly banner.
The day was amazing. We were very proud to be represented alongside women from across wales enjoying the sunshine and marching together in solidarity through the streets of the city.

I'm one of 100 artists working with 100 arts organisations to create 100 banners to celebrate the centenary of The Representation of the People's Act. I'm working with a group of Prism Arts artist, participants and friends. Our banner will join one of four processions taking place on 10th June 2018. This project is organised by Artichoke.
