I always wondered, which big big animals could pull these karts through the city - I thought it might be elefants ...
No, it is just people ;-)
I passed by, was one of the last bikes the police let pass, I saw the kart stuck in some potholes, parked the bike somewhere where it would not disturb the procession and took some photos.
Unfortunately there was no possibility to take photos from angles from which the sun would not disturb the picture ...

Le tre Arciconfraternite della città organnizano altrettante processioni, che uniscono tradizioni medioevali con la forte influenza spagnola dovuta a 400 anni di dominazione iberica sull'isola.
Processione del Gesù Crocifisso:
Si comincia alle 13,15 con l'arciconfraternita della Solitudine di San Giovanni di Villanova, che porta il pesantissimo simulacro ligneo del Cristo in croce (chiamato "Su Monumentu") dalla Chiesa di San Giovanni in Cattedrale, accompagnato dalle consorelle, dai simboli della passione e dai cantori che intonano, durante le varie fermate della processione, canti struggenti (si dice derivanti dai canti della passione di Metastasio, ma è tutto da verificare), tramandati oralmente da generazione a generazione, e dalla statua della Madonna addolorata (che reca i simboli dei 7 dolori, in sardo "Sett'Ispadas de Dolore", le sette spade di dolore che trafiggono il cuore di Maria".
Processione del Cristo Morto e della Madonna Addolorata:
Analoga alla prima, alle 16 parte la seconda processione organizzata dall'arciconfraternita del Santissimo Crocifisso, che da San Giacomo porta il simulacro del Cristo in croce alla chiesa di San Lucifero (prossima alla chiesa di San Saturnino, uno dei primissimi luoghi di culto cristiani dell'isola, del V-VI secolo).
Processione del Cristo Morto:
L'ultima processione, alle 20,15, è organizzata dall'arciconfraternita del Gonfalone sotto l'invocazione di Sant'Efisio Martire di Cagliari è diversa dalle altre due, infatti qui il Cristo è già deposto nella lettiga e coperto da un velo (questa processione verrà fatta dalle altre due confraternite il Sabato pomeriggio), ed ha un carattere molto più intimo, si sviluppa tutta dento il quartiere storico di Stampace e parte e rientra nella Chiesa di Sant'Efisio (quest'anno Sant'Anna per impraticabilità della chiesa di Sant'Efisio per lavori di restauro)

Dasara is the Nadahabba (state-festival) of the state of Karnataka. It is also called as Navaratri (Nava-ratri = nine-nights) and is a 10-day festival with the last day being Vijayadashami, the most auspicious day of Dasara. Dasara usually falls in the month of September or October. According to a legend, Vijayadashami denotes the victory of truth over evil and was the day when the Hindu Goddess Chamundeshwari killed the demon Mahishasura. Mahishasura is the demon from whose name; the name Mysore has been derived. The city of Mysore has a long tradition of celebrating the Dasara festival and the festivities here are an elaborate affair and attract a large audience including foreigners.
