I don't know what Nat's character is called so I titled this based on what I did to the photo. I used Topaz Adjust's Dark - Night faded to 65% on the Overlay mode and Nik Software's Color Efex Pro - Pro Contrast / Cross-Processing & Film Grain filters. Light pattern created with MagMod's MagBeam with stencil.

Fracking: a process of drilling down into the earth to release natural gas from shale rock fields. Technological developments now have advanced to the point where it is possible to drill vertically and then horizontally. Millions of gallons of "sweet, potable water" are used in the process. In other words, this is the same water you drink, bathe in and need for everyday uses. This water then returns as flowback which is nothing more than a toxic, even radioactive witches brew of undisclosed chemicals that threatens everyone's health. Not only that, but the water is gone and can't be brought back. And the land itself is also destroyed. Would you want to live near a place where this is occuring?
And let's be sure to thank our former vice-president cheney for this process to " spill " across the nation. When in office he made sure to insert the " Haliburton Regulation" in environmental laws which exempted this process from regulation by the EPA. Of course, he used to be CEO of that company. Well, he had one thing right: there were weapons of mass destruction. They just
weren't in Iraq.
Zo'n lens als de Loawa Dreamer heb je niet gelijk onder de knie, dus heb ik hier een uitsnede gemaakt van wat wel gelukt is.
You can't master a lens like the Loawa Dreamer straight away, so I've made a crop here of what I did manage.

Artists at Work: Process Recorded, an experimental exhibition that explored different approaches to the creative process and the way work is archived.
Each day, one of our ten participating artists undertook a performative piece within our Multi-Purpose Hall here at the KCC. Every session, was open to the public and recorded live and broadcast to the KCC video screens: subsequently creating an archive of the 10 days work. The focus was on the artists’ responses to the space, time, camera and audience afforded to them through this exhibition.
Upon completion of this project the 10 day creative process was examined with an artists’ talk followed by a celebratory party.

My current work addresses the production of food in modern American society. From factory farming to locally raised produce, I seek to explore what may be one of the most pressing issues of our time in a lighthearted and approachable manner. It is widely acknowledged that the industrialization of food manufacturing has transformed the lives, habits, and bodies of Americans, as well as alerted the way that most of our society thinks-or doesn’t think-about where food comes from and what food is. I create digitally fabricated representations of animals that are engineered and produced, and may have more in common with products or raw materials than other living creatures. These animals, which are designed, fabricated and then placed on assembly lines that guide their existence from inception to processing, include chickens, cows, pigs, and fish. My work is also concerned with edible plants and their role in our lives both historically and presently. Plants as well as animals are now being generated inside laboratories, and travel unimaginable distances to reach our supermarkets and tables. This is a marvel of human technology and global society as well as a complex system that may need re-working if humanity is to move toward a sustainable future.
I hope that I can put what goes onto your plate into your thoughts as well.
The best way for me to come up with new ideas is by changing or challenging the process itself.
I used the roller paint to save time, but I think it had a real effect on the overall shapes of the letters. Looking forward to more...
The scan of this print did not work as well as I wanted it to but this is one of my fav landscape pics, taken from the dirt road running behind the Langeberg Mountains, past Tradouw towards Heidelberg. The "sheep" on the hill are actually rocks; the colours are all distorted because of the cross processing.

Lol, my husband just realised that all these cocoas are in our pantry ;) I do love the nuances in flavours that "ingredients" offer... part of the joy of baking.
