This Pacific golden plover has been probing the rain soaked ground for earthworms and insects. There is mud on its bill and head. But my favorite detail is the adorable eyelashes. (View large.)
Camouflaged for ground nesting, the Kolea (Pluvialis fulva) annually migrates from breeding grounds in Alaska and Siberia to tropical Pacific islands over thousands of miles of open ocean. After 3 to 4 days and nights of non-stop flying it arrives at the first landfall, Hawaii. A magnificent navigator, it uses the stars and the earth’s magnetic field to find the exact same location each year. This one winters in Hawaii. Some continue on into the southern hemisphere as far as New Zealand.
Today I'm presenting you my newest creation,
the Viper Probe Droid.
The build didnt take long, but it was very fun building all the eyes and sensors.
Hope you guys like it:)
I look forward to hear critics or comments,
Benedict
A migratory Pacific golden plover probes a shallow wetland pond for aquatic invertebrates. Superb navigators, kolea (Pluvialis fulva) find their way back to the same patch of grassy turf as they inhabited the previous winter.
A tablescrap from a while back. Not the best editing, but I'm getting better. I put more time into the picture than the actual build.
Interestingly, when you connect 2x2 bricks with mudguard together using 1x4/2x2 hinges, you get an exact heptagon...
After the trouble with the LEGO Ulysses last week, I built a proper version of the space probe in the same scale with more details!
Everyone who couldn’t get the other one or just likes this one better can build it using the free instructions on StoneWars. All 291 pieces should be available on LEGO Bricks & Pieces.
Finally, a model to use your golden Slopes and Nexo shields for!
Turns out my new photo setup takes amazing black background pictures. May have to build more white spaceships.

For those wondering what the heck is the object on the background that looks like rocket or something? Is a ( parachute) wind parachute surfing!
These are the IRL versions of my Imperial probe droid moc. Seeing as it been a while since I showed any progress on my Hoth project, I thought to order the parts for this build was the least I could do.
I also wanted to use this post to mention that whilst I'll eventually get to working on the AT-AT and Falcon, I am slightly exhausted from experimenting with those builds and instead focus on some future IDEAS projects instead.
I am sorry if this post seems rushed, but that's because it is as I had a lot of exams in the past few weeks. Fortunately, I do have some projects in the works with the one I hope to show next week so stay tuned for those ;)

This is for the FBTB small attack droid contest. I still want to convey some sort of disturbing weirdness, so I based the design off that of the Star Wars IT-O interrogator droid. Here's the backstory:
The AT-O attack droid was developed by the Imperial Department of Military Research, the same research department that engineered the frightening IT-O interrogator droid. The diameter of the AT-O spans slightly shorter than the length of a human’s armspan. Its spherical body is armed with a precise laser blaster and a stun gun that can immobilize small units and machines. When unengaged in combat, the droid hovers by repulsorlift technology; however, it is equipped with a booster for sudden strikes and charges. The speed and agility of the AT-O make it a formidable threat, even to the Jedi. Unfortunately, the AT-O was not as expendable as the Empire’s never-ending supply of storm troopers, so they were dispatched sparingly such as in secret strikes and crucial skirmishes.

At low tide, mudflats used to remind me of the moon's craters. We'd probably need heavy boots to lurch about on the moon, while on mudflats, it's the reverse. We'd sink in the squelching bits, without the special foot gear cocklers and bait collectors wear.
A painted stork (mycteria leucocephala) sweeping its beak from side to side, hoping to sense the small fish that form the bulk of its diet. Photographed in Kumana National Park, Sri Lanka. More at "Colin Pacitti Wildlife Photography & Fishing Travels" - www.colin-pacitti.com.
A tiny bee fly stays still long enough for a photo. It was on a Podolepis flower. Happy Fly Day Friday everyone! [York, Western Australia]
'What's with all the panic to get this probe up?'
'Well, if that new object up there is a black hole, we're...'
'Probe Rover II, Control here, you're on open mic...'
'fudged... If on the other hand that is Old Tom's new doughnut delivery system, we're going to need a lot of coffee...'

Saw this little guy near Salmonier Nature Park.
If you are near there it is worthwhile to stop and go for a walk.
Mniotilta varia
The Black-and-white Warbler is the only member of the genus Mniotilta. The genus name means “moss-plucking,” a reference to its habit of probing bark and moss for insects.
