The Chaiyaphum Wind Farm started commercial operation in December 16, 2016. The wind power plant is located in Subyai district, Chaiyaphum province. The power plant has the total contracted capacity of 80 MW, comprising 32-unit wind turbines at 2.5 MW each. The project is expected to contribute to Thailand's initiative to boost energy security using clean enrgy sources.

Scientists from the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) are now working alongside Brazil nut harvesters to measure the production of Brazil nut trees and determine the impact of selective logging. This is intended to provide a scientific basis for laws regulating timber extraction in the concessions. Serapio Condori Daza, a Brazil nut harvester, weighing a sack of Brazil nuts with a Universidad Nacional Amazónica de Madre de Dios (UNAMAD) student working/CIFOR in Felicitas Ramirez Surco's concession, Madre de Dios, Peru.

Parental Leave, a key to prosperity – and other true stories
Together with UN Women, the Nordic Council of Ministers under Norway’s Presidency hosted a high-level discussion on policies promoting equal opportunities in working life, affordable child care, education and parental leave for all parents. The debate, moderated by journalist Femi Oke, aimed to highlight experiences from trade unions and the private sector. Panelists include: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Norway, Børge Brende (host), Executive Director of UN Women Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka (co-host), Minister for Foreign Affairs, Iceland, Gudlaugur Thór Thórdarson, Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion, Spotify, Isa Notermans, General Secretary of International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) Sharan Burrow, and Director General of Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) Kristin Skogen Lund.
