The Hanford Sentinel press sits silent after printing operations were moved to the Selma Enterprise back in the fall of 2009. There is still a roll of newsprint in the machine. Probably from the last thing that will ever be printed at the Sentinel. Hipstamatic and Tiffen Photo fx apps were used.

At first I thought this was a messed up photo, but it's not, this is the colour from the sunlight comming in the room and reflecting off the presse and ink.
no, this is not a "bubblejet". bubblejets don't have this three-hundred-pound solid metal Crunching Tower that flies across the table every time it prints a page. no, if this printer had a name, it'd probably be something like "BrokenNoseJet" or "BluntTraumaJet". from the ne-plus-ultra of williamsburg letterpresses -- coeur noir.
Had to go to a printer's warehouse today to approve a proof before going to print. Had fun shooting all the machines.
Produced a much better proof (seen behind the press) than smashing them with the page holder of the guillotine. Serious artist stuff here.
