Founded in Leominster in 1873 by Henry Stanley Newman to provide training for orphans in printing trades and generate income for the orphanage.
A gas powered press valued at £100 was installed. Probably a gas engine with a leather drive belt between the flywheel of the gas engine and the flywheel of the press.
The boys worked three hours a day in the printing office, one set in the morning and another in the afternoon. This allowed them plenty of time for school and for play.
Other homes such as Barnado's, National Children's Home and The Children's Society provided training in print.

Some members of the 'History of Buildings' architecture group of Northampton U3A visited London and took an extremely interesting walk around some of the 'Wren Churches' in the City. We finished our tour at St Brides, so continued our walk down Fleet Street.
The old Art Deco Daily Telegraph building by Elcock, Sutcliffe & Tait. The Egyptian-style columns and ornate clock are the only real nods to Art Deco. The printing presses in the basement rocked Fleet Street when they were in action but the offices are now used by quieter neighbours: Goldman Sachs International.
The East Hall, to the left as you walk in the Library's main entrance, tells the history of the Gutenberg Century and the invention of the printing press. The books featured here are incunabula, items printed between 1455 and 1501.
This desk is so neat, It belongs to a bunch of accessories for printing. I can't think of what it's called, it's a printing something or other. It's gonna drive me mad until I think of it. Printing press? Anyway, it's terribly neat but really really dusty.

This is a 32 page in house document document in a 20 ring binder with 8x10 glossy photos and hand typed pages. Called "Kodak presents the Kodak Chevron Camera". The first 17 pages describe the Chevron camera, the rest are covering the Pony 135 model B, Bantam Rangefinder, Brownie Holiday and the Signet 35. I assume this was an in house project that was supposed to become a printed brochure or catalogue. But never made it to the printing press. Or at least I have never seen a printed version. I am not sure why they did not amend the title to include the other cameras described

Twitter and other social media platforms have ushered in the most dramatic change to news paradigm since the printing press. Now, “the people formerly known as the audience” are part of every stage of the news cycle — in a live and public way. They are the first to signal when news is breaking, participate in act of reporting, and serve as the social soundtrack as stories unfold. (See attached schematic). The most innovative news organizations are capturing that data to change the way they do business. In this panel, we’ll hear about powerful news tools to discover news as it's breaking, and from the journalists who are harnessing the power or twitter to engage audiences in the very act of journalism.

Found in a corner of the British Library. This is a working press, copied from an 18th century example, but it would (according to the sign on the wall) have been very similar to the one used in 1454 by Europe's first printer: Johannes Gutenberg. It is modelled on the press used by American printer and politician Benjamin Franklin.
As the printing press marked the shift from individual written copies of documents to potentially thousands of identical copies, I figured this might fit the 52 in 2015 theme #37 repetition
