I saw this ink that you could put in your printer cartridge yourself and save a lot of money. Richard said Dave did it so I thought I'd try. Big mistake.

As we redesign the giant printer, we're considering what tools we can use to make it possible. Rapid prototyping via CNC allows us to quickly and easily iterate and design new parts and functionality, test it, and re-design again. This is the newest design, using a multiple pulley system which controls the speed of the string holding up the printer head... more to come soon!
It took a butchered old camera power supply and my netbook charger coincidentally died somehow in the process, and I had the paper back to front, but my thermal printer prints!
Going to be a bit of a pain to program the Arduino without my netbook, though.
Vintage letterpress drawer made by Hamilton. Drawer is wooden with a dark green metal front and shows nice use with ink smears. Dimensions are approximately 32(l) x 16 ½(w) x 1 ½(h).

My friend Nicholas Hanna's water printer. Text is loaded into a computer script which ouputs a dot matrix feed which in turn operates the water nozzles.
