The exact same location and very slightly different composition as a previous image, this time a few hours later in the day. The first one was taken just before dawn, this one at mid morning.

It goes to show just how transformative light is when it comes to landscape photography.

According to a reliable source, the previous owners of this home rented out the property as an airbnb. It was completely renovated from top to bottom and sold ready for new owners that would appreciate its beauty....I have featured the outdoor patio area because it serves as some very usable living space. As shown, it makes for a great garden area....and it looks like someone has already started planting some roots...

This home will be available at faMESHed starting the 1st of August but you can preview it now at the HISA mainstore:

A rather better shot than the previous one posted of this species. A raven of mountain country in eastern and southern Africa. From a slide.

Η κόρη της Μελωδίας ~ Melody's daughter

Previously I took a photo of a white orchid blossom from this arrangement but I wanted to show you how beautiful the entire arrangement is. My oldest daughter Julie, who lives in California, sent this to me for my birthday and I was amazed at how fresh and wonderful it looks because it was shipped and sent to me in a huge box. I hope so much that I can keep it alive!

Well folks the previous image was from the pond to the rail, and the start of the shake, rattle and roll behavior which is what I came for. A friend captured an image that I was trying to replicate and did so 10-times over. If it were any other species I would not not invested this much time and effort, some yes but not this much.

Thank you very much for visiting, and have a great day.

#SlidersSunday

From the new (please see my previous upload or first comment) to the old, historical part of the Deutsches Historisches Museum / German Historical Museum (DHM): the entrance hall of the Zeughaus. The Zeughaus was originally built as an arsenal (hence the name Zeughaus which means arsenal or armoury) in baroque style between 1695 and 1706 and was redesigned as a Prussian hall of fame between 1877 and 1880. The Zeughaus was damaged by a fire in WWII, and restored by the GDR authorities between 1949 and 1967 (the exterior true to the original, the interior in a more simplified fashion), and found its current use as home of the DHM in 2003. The Zeughaus today is the oldest original structure on Berlin's oldest boulevard Unter den Linden ("under the linden trees").

Slide-ified for Sliders Sunday: I copied and horizontally flipped the door (which leads to exhibition rooms) and the adjacent space on the left to replace the originally more cluttered looking part on the right (with the main entrance and the rather busy museum shop) to create a more harmonious and cleaner look. And I borrowed an image taken at the opposite staircase: The forest illumination with the two silhouettes - father and son - in front of it. The area at the top of the stairs on this side of the entrance hall was actually completely empty.

HSS, Everyone, take care, keep calm, and stay healthy!

Arena Birmingham (previously known as The Barclaycard Arena and the National Indoor Arena) is an indoor sporting and entertainment venue in Birmingham, United Kingdom. The Arena, owned by parent company, the NEC Group, is situated in central Birmingham. When it was opened in 1991, it was the largest indoor arena in the UK.

The arena hosts a variety of events including concerts, business conferences and exhibitions. It has a capacity of up to 15,800 using both permanent seating and temporary seating configurations.

The NIA was officially opened on 4 October 1991 by the athlete Linford Christie.

I previously shot photos with a Minolta SRT 201 film camera. This photo was taken back in the late 1980’s while driving home from work in Delaware where I worked for 20 years. (I didn’t take it from inside my car. There is no motion.)

This photo was chosen as the cover photo of the group FAV 51-80. Thanks!

Tarangire National Park, Tanzania

As you may have guessed from my previous post, my wife and I are just back from an amazing 10 day trip to Africa, Northern Tanzania to be precise, taking in the National Parks of Arusha, Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Serengeti as well as the Ngorongoro Crater.

These Zebra seemed to sense something was not quite right.

My previous post showed a portion of the beach with lots of ice. This image focuses on a single piece of clear, blue-toned ice that was further down the beach. A longer exposure was used to blur the salt water as it quickly receded down the beach after a wave washed over the ice.

I was in Iceland previously (2014), and have an album of images on Flickr from that trip, should you want to wade through more images of that lovely island: www.flickr.com/photos/40724294@N04/albums/721576509078426.... That trip was more focused on "non-bird" things.

The previous posted shot is the one which i captured immediately after the sun broke out on, the first dawn of a new decade, starting 1st Jan 2010. I didnt plan to capture any more shots, however, when i saw the reflections of the sun in the water i captured this shot, and couldnt stop posting it here. Hope you folks like it.

Original. See previous photo for cropped version and link to On1 Photo Raw

Another shot from Govetts Leap for sunrise which was only 5 minutes from the hotel. The previous shot was at 120mm so easy to compare the difference of a 10x zoom ;-)

The sun rays came out nicely at f/16.

The trees in left foreground lit up nicely in the early morning sunlight!

Victor and I were hoping for the sky to go crazy with the high level cloud but there must have been too much cloud on the horizon unfortunately. Still a great a sunrise though.

Govetts Leap lookout is right at the carpark so no hiking required.

Why are the Blue Mountains blue? Wikipedia tells us

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Mountains_(New_South_Wales)

....the tinge is believed to be caused by mie scattering which occurs when incoming ultraviolet radiation is scattered by particles within the atmosphere creating a blue-greyish colour to any distant objects, including mountains and clouds. Volatile terpenoids emitted in large quantities by the abundant eucalyptus trees in the Blue Mountains may cause mie scattering and thus the blue haze for which the mountains were named...

or that we really don't know but the blue can be easily seen at 120mm.

As the title indicates - an edit of a previous image I took one sunrise at Bar Beach, NSW; Australia a few weeks ago.

I've altered the composition slightly from the original in an attempt to help the viewers eye follow the line of rocks front and back through the image - hope it works!

Have a great day and weekend!!

Thanks once again for any comments, views or favorites for this or any of my other images - always very much appreciated!!!

Ancient Kashi, previously known as Benares and now called Varanasi, remains one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities. This timeless city embodies enlightenment and liberation from the perpetual cycle of rebirth, driven by the force of karma.

In 1987, I had the privilege of visiting Varanasi and capturing this photograph of four rural women embarking on a sacred pilgrimage. They stand gracefully in front of one of the majestic temples (this one a mosque) that grace the shores of the sacred Ganges, a testament to the city's profound spiritual significance.

From my slide archives: the picture was originally photographed on Fuji Chrome film with my Nikon FE2 camera and 130mm lens. I photographed the slide bracketing it with a Nikon D850 camera and enhanced the picture in Lightroom, Photoshop, and Topaz.

One taken previously at my feeding area. I found this post whilst on a family outing. I was on the lookout for suitable props and saw this laying on the ground. I have a number of images from this post. My plan was to get the Jay on top of this......but its not playing ball at the moment. I will persevere, as I think in the right conditions it will make for an excellent shot. Until then I will be posting a few other birds that frequented the post :)

Once again thank you all for taking the time to view my images and to comment/fave it is much appreciated :)

Previously covered by an elevated highway, the Cheonggyecheon stream was recovered in 2005 and has become an atraction for locals as well as tourists since.

Although I like the previous image more, this one still has quite a lot of merit to it. I like the wave covering the entire bottom 3rd of the frame, as well as the bird naturally in the top left corner. The wings were clipped in other images in the series but are intact here, not to mention the legs kicking the water.

Been focused on other projects but will probably return and search for more White-eyed gulls soon.

Bergh Castle or in Dutch Huis Bergh, in 's-Heerenberg, is one of the largest castles in Gelderland, The Netherlands. It gives its name to the Land van den Bergh and was previously owned by the Counts Van den Bergh.

The building history dates back to the 13th century. The main parts of the castle are from the 14th, 15th and 17th century. In the beginning of the Dutch Revolt the house got damaged by war. In 1735 the castle burned down.

In 1912 Huis Bergh and all belongings became the property of Jan Herman van Heek, an industrialist from Enschede.

He restored the buildings. In 1939 there was another major fire. Thanks to the help of locals most of the furniture was rescued. Renovation began the same year and was completed in 1941.

This image and the two previous ones are from a music video I made. A cover by Grace VanderWaal of Tove Lo's "Habits (Stay High" and a few other clips. I really love Grace's voice and the emotion that she puts into her work. Grace had shared the audio but there was no video.

A photo taken near Akihabara (秋葉原), a few km upstream from the previous photo.

The railway bridge over the Kandagawa is the Soubu line (総武線) of JR East. The old uplifted railway track in the left is the Chuuou line (中央線) of JR East leading to Kanda (神田) and Tokyo stations. The space under the old railway girder is used for cafes and restaurants.

It's an acrobatic construction!

Both lines operate trains every several minutes.

This section of the Kandagawa is a canal constructed in the 17th century as part of Sotobori (外濠) or the outer moat of Edo Castle by the Date clan (伊達氏) from Sendai. The construction involved digging 20m to bisect the Surugadai hill.

The Date clan was a powerful Daimyou based in Sendai in northeastern Japan. They were not a relative nor a hereditary subordinate of the Tokugawa. Such local rulers were called Tozama Daimyou (外様大名) or the outsider Daimyou.

The Tokugawa shogunate often assigned large scale construction works in Edo to Tozama Daimyou to test their loyalty to the shogunate. It was also intended to weaken them with huge spendings for the construction works (^-^;

On my previous post called "One for the show", I told a tale of a photojournalist that wanted to shoot some footage of me doing my thing at Bear Lake in the Rocky Mountains. He has sent me a link of a different show that included some of the footage from that day. I was very nervous about doing this show because I was running on empty having slept in the car the night before and after 48 hours managed to grab less than 4 hours of sleep. I knew I looked like hell but couldn't resist being part of the show. After watching the show I ran to the bathroom to look at myself in the mirror. Wow, I've heard that the camera adds 10 pounds but not 10 years. I was really reluctant to post this link but after some contemplation I decided that I'm getting older and that's just the way it is. The show turned out great and Chris Hansen did a fantastic job of shooting it. I appear 3 times during the show with the longest being about 3 mins long.

Unfortunately, I was wearing the condom tip hat that day and a matching neck sock to make the effect complete. LOL

Here's the link and my biggest appearance is at about 34 mins into the show. I have an small appearance before this and after this segment and they use my commentary in a couple other places during the show. Take a look if your interested but please be gentle. Hehe. :)

And please no comments about my Avatar, That's the way I still see myself. :)

Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my photos and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! Have a great weekend everyone :)

If you have any questions about this photo or about photography in general, I will do my best to help, just post a comment or send me a Flickr mail and I will respond as quickly as possible.

Previously, there was a picture that children drew. It may be because it faded. I think this is not graffiti but a genre of public art.

Another previously unpublished photo from the western Allgäu has been found while browsing through the archive. After the EC 196 was photographed near Heimhofen, we quickly headed to nearby Harbatshofen, just a few kilometers away, to capture the first EuroCity train coming from Switzerland (EC 191, Basel SBB – Munich Hbf) crossing the road bridge. The Mühldorf double header, made up of 218 433-1 and 218 430-7, was already clearly audible as the eight-car passenger train, including a restaurant car and a panoramic car, made its way through the winding section of the KBS 970. Unfortunately, this scene can never be repeated.

If you read my previous post you’ll know that I passed on shooting the beach huts at Llanbedrog, as the conditions didn’t look that favourable for a sunrise. Instead I walked further down the beach towards Pwllheli having spotted the trees above the beach on the left of this shot, which I thought might offer a decent reflection shot in the various pools of water.

Eventually as the sun popped above the distant mountains, the sky lit up presenting a cracking sunrise. Amongst the shots I took was this 10 shot panorama, which, even though I was as as low as I could get, I still couldn’t get a decent reflection of the trees, without sacrificing other elements of the shot, such as the cormorants perched on the shingle piles in the distance.

If you've seen my previous images of Aghinish, you'll know that it's largely a limestone plain barren of all but a few trees. At the edge of the plain however there is this fine grove of pines that don't suffer from a lack of soil and aren't regularly flooded. I did have to tread gingerly through the saturated ground though, and avoid copious amounts of horse shit, as the land owner normally keeps his Connemara ponies on the property. I don't *think* I had to edit any of their poop out of this image, taken on one of their trails through the pines.

With the previous day's L580 unable to pull all their assigned tonnage out of Franquet, an extra crew running as W933 was called in Senneterre for 0800.

Plan of the day; running light engine to Franquet, pull the loaded ballast cars stored there, double over the L580 cars and run south towards Quévillon where an engineering department team will meet them for some ballast dropping along the southern part of the line.

After a few moves, marshalling the train in the right sequence and having the power wyed in Franquet wye, W933 slowly pulled off the Matagami subdivision into the Chapais subdivision with the section house still in place, complete with CNR's iconic wood station name sign on it.

We were very glad catching this move on our trip, train 581-580 only running two days a week here and mostly at night, this was a huge bonus for us over this seldom used remote line.

This is a close up of the same group of deer as in the previous photo. With a Stag and his hareem high on the Northern slopes of Stac Pollaidh with the full expanse of Loch Sionsgaig and Suilven stretching out beyond. We turned this small group of Red Deer out as we climbed up the higher stages on our final approach to the summit of Stac Polly, they moved down slightly away from us with the Stag standing illuminated by the morning sun with his hinds remaining mostly in the shadow of the mountain. He let go a couple of bellows and we could hear other stags in the distance bellowing in reply, the rut nearing it end in late October.
