Imagine if you will coming into this world with eyesight that far exceeds our many times over. Now imagine seeing a gnat flying above your head. If I could speak for the fledgling my sense is he would be saying" Is this what I am supposed to catch in mid-air and somehow hold this morsel in my feet trying to eat it while ripping it to shreds??? Or, very simply... "what the hell is this??"
Either way, there's the falcon and there's the gnat. you make up your own scenario as to what a new visitor to this world might wonder about this gnat. He is looking at it, and shortly after this frame the gnat continued to fly over his head as he followed the flight path in wonderment...
Do not attempt to clean your monitor... that speck on your screen is a gnat!!!
I don't make this stuff up; it's real life as my camera sees it...

ʙᴇ sᴄᴀʀᴇᴅ ʙᴜᴛ ᴅᴏ ɪᴛ ᴀɴʏᴡᴀʏ
The city hums beneath her feet, a low, electric murmur that once felt like home but now thrums with the pull of something else, something wilder, untamed. She stands at the edge of a decision, the weight of it pressing against her ribs like a second heartbeat. The wind tugs at the hem of her coat, impatient, whispering in her ear. She exhales, slow and steady, and lets the moment stretch, feeling the sharp thrill of the unknown coil in her stomach. Fear is there, of course - it always is - but she wears it like an accessory, like a shade of lipstick that dares the world to look twice.
She glances once over her shoulder - not out of doubt, but acknowledgment. Of the version of herself she is about to leave, the city that cradled her in certainty, the roads she once walked without question. Then, with a smirk only she understands, she steps forward, in a whole different place. The air shifts. The moment breaks open. And just like that, she is in motion - toward the life that has been waiting for her all along.
Forward is the way.

Millions of the population are pressing our politicians to let us get ‘Back to Normal' as soon as possible. I feel obliged to show them just how ‘wonderful’?? 'Normal' again would be!
Oh, and by the way......How soon can I go back to the Costa Brava and sun bath again?...........God Help Us !!

Kayla yanked Adrienne behind a dumpster a few yards from the door, pressing her back against the cold metal as she scanned the alley. It was the same narrow passage they’d jumped to upon arriving at the restaurant.
“What was that about?” Adrienne murmured, her voice slightly unsteady. “I was just starting to feel the wine.”
Kayla held up a finger to her lips, a quiet shhh escaping her.
Just then, the side door flew open, and two men stepped into the alley. Their eyes swept up and down the dimly lit corridor.
“They’re not out here. Check the restroom, search the place!” one ordered.
A second voice murmured, “They may have jumped.”
The man in the gray suit slipped back inside, but the one in black remained, his gaze fixed on the shadows.
Kayla and Adrienne were on high alert. He was one of them. Without hesitation, they shifted between dimensions, peering at him through the haze of the veil.
“I saw our waiter speaking to the man in gray,” Kayla whispered. “They were watching us. I knew something was off.”
Adrienne frowned. “How did the waiter know who we were?”
“He’s human, so I’m not sure. But if the reptiles in this timeline have started mixing their DNA with humans, it’s possible he was controlled—maybe even able to sense us. If that’s the case, we didn’t detect him at all. That’s what worries me.”
The man in the black suit prowled the alley, nostrils flaring.
Then, in a deep, guttural voice thick with mucus, he snarled, “I smell you. You are here.”
In a blink, his form twisted, shifting into something monstrous. Scales rippled across his skin, his mouth stretching wide to reveal rows of jagged teeth dripping with spittle. A primal scream erupted from his throat, reverberating through the alley. He slashed the air with his talons ripping long claw marks in the steel dumpster.
Adrienne stiffened in horror. Even with the dimensional barrier protecting them, he felt terrifyingly close. She fought to suppress her own scream.
Kayla had seen this transformation before. She knew the effect it would have on Adrienne and instinctively wrapped her arm around her.
Then, as suddenly as he had changed, the reptile snapped back to his human disguise and vanished inside.

**Pressing "L" on your keyboard or clicking on the image you can see his "SMILE" after his first successful flight all the way aroung his home base...
See it, am I wrong?! That's a cheek to cheek smile and vocalization no doubt announcing his incoming to his nest mate buried deep in the Juniper tree.
This guy is returning from his epic journey around the tree. He is so excited that it brought a smile to his pretty face! The landing was clumsy at best as he did a header right after this frame leaving only his rear end sticking up in the air and his face buried into the depths of this Cypress/Juniper tree. (?)
"Oh boy I made it, that was a scary journey!" said he!
I have to tell you my friends being a nest stalker is one of the most rewarding venues in photograph that I have encountered. How cool it is to witness the very first steps/flight not unlike we as parents looked forward to our child first steps. Such a cool thing to be part of and memorize.

It all began in 4th century China, where hollow objects such as pots were used to smooth out linen and clothing. But it was not until much later that the first irons appeared.
We are at the very beginning of the 17th century. At that time, iron plates with long handles were used. They had to be placed in stoves to heat them up properly.
Between the 17th and 18th centuries, the cast iron iron made its appearance. It was made of metal with an iron handle. It had to be heated in embers, but it must be said that it was not really easy to use. Over time, this tool evolved, as was to be expected.
In the 19th century, there was the cast iron iron, but with a hollow interior where the user could place embers, and the handle was made of wood. At this time, the iron was no longer placed in the embers, but the opposite. A few years later, the mass-heated iron was invented. With this iron, the user placed heated metal on the embers inside the tool to do their ironing. Hollow iron
1882 was an important year in the history of irons, as it was from this time onwards that electricity began to be used in these ironing tools.

This image started out as the answer to the question, “If concrete still survives as a building material 100 years from now, how will the architectural style of Brutalism evolve? What will Brutalist designs of say, high-rises of the future look like by the 22nd century? Anything like this?”
I’d pieced together this futuristic condo tower in Photoshop from a section of a local concrete condo, the Colonnade on Bloor Street in Toronto. Then I added a nice blue sky. But, while I liked the building, the image overall lacked punch. Hmmm. So I swapped out the bland blue sky for this fiery one. And that changed the question for me!
Now, I thought, the question was more pressing: “Who knows - given another 100 years of climate change - what the view will be from the 227th floor balcony of a 22nd century highrise condo like this?" 🤔 Brutal indeed!

The sun rises slowly, not in warmth but in pressure — a narrow seam of light forcing its way through a heavy sky.
The night lingers, unresolved, while the first glow holds its ground at the horizon. This is not a gentle beginning, but a necessary one. A reminder that some mornings arrive before the world is ready, and still insist on being seen.

“One swallow does not a summer make, nor one fine day; similarly one day or brief time of happiness does not make a person entirely happy” - attributed to Aristotle (384 – 322 BC).
Well, it may not be summer here just yet, but as the days near it on the calendar, it is starting to warm up!
This lovely hand woven basket filled with dried and paper flowers and the handmade paper in the background are in the studio of an accomplished artist who amongst many other things, conducts classes on flower pressing and dried flower art. I attended such a class last weekend and learned how to save myself months of time by pressing and drying flowers in the microwave, would you believe! I think created a picture with the selection of roses, lavender, honeysuckle, ornamental vine leaves and cornflowers I gathered from her very large garden. It was a marvellous and mindful way to spend a day!
