On November 2, 2017, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) held the annual Awards Luncheon to celebrate and honor Department members who went above and beyond the call of duty.
Included in the presentations are three awards recognizing individual contributions to the LAFD.

Special Commendation: Rescue of Jumper - Engineer James Martin and Engineer Kameron Carlis
Special Commendation: Off-Duty Rescue of Mother and Children - CI/PM John Marasco
Special Commendation: Off-Duty Rescue of Jumper - FF Kenneth Fraser
Special Commendation: Shark Attack Rescue - FF/PM Christopher Kuzmicz
Medal of Merit: Off-Duty Rescue of Child - FF/PM Andrew Guzzard
Medal of Merit: Rescue of Four Children - FF Bryce Gutierrez
Fire Chief's Silver Civilian Award: Confined Space Physical Rescue - Dr. Marc Eckstein
