ANNOUNCES its presence to a observer with its shrill alarm call, and often flys away, unless you keep a very low profile, this time it worked. A medium-sized wader, with red bill and legs, favours areas of undisturbed damp grass-land, moors and the margins of marshes , seen at Elmley Marshes, Sheppy Kent.

(patrice)

Werner Herzog, a great filmmaker, once said that "the universe is monstrously indifferent to the presence of man" ... .If he is right, it is from this small house lost on the shores of the Magdalen Island in Quebec, that I would like to see the universe not give a damn about me! (Patrice)
The smallest of three brothers and the last surviving brother, whilst he is full of battle scars, he has oodles of presence! Early morning is interesting as he and Kasanga have quite the roaring conversation!!

BE PRESENT TO THE WORLD
I filled up with naivety,
The one that brings us closer to the first evidences,
Natural beauties.
And I set off on the trails of the great prairies, without a specific project,
Except that of assuming my presence in the world.
Here, the wind, free from all hindrances
Makes hear a white noise that sucks us into it.
At nightfall, the unequaled immensity of the starry sky transports the observer to another dimension... inhuman, elusive, marvellous, and cosmic.
Confronted with the non-human, we become small and questioning: “And if we were alone? Seen from there, what are we? Is there, in us, a memory of our origins?
I could have crossed ancient forests, going along the ocean shores…
Everywhere, natural beauty generates a physiological and metaphysical experience that penetrates the consciousness, through all the senses...
…Making it more “present” to the natural world, this capacity atrophied by the artificial universe that modernity has erected.
By themselves, these experiences won’t change what’s wrong on this planet.
But they could change the way everyone understands the issues and responds to them in good conscience. *

Taken during a very misty walk through Barnes's Grove, I found myself deep in the conifers (as you do) and was taken by this slender apparition. The mood fitted a mono image in my view.
recently, on a dewy morning, i walked through a field. at first, i didn't notice this web. i needed to pause and breathe. pause and see. a big part of photography is being present. i'm grateful for that gift.
🎶 GAVIN LUKE - A PRESENCE FELT
“Of course I’ll hurt you. Of course you’ll hurt me. Of course we will hurt each other. But this is the very condition of existence. To become spring, means accepting the risk of winter. To become presence, means accepting the risk of absence.”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Manon, Ballerina
Peace is not the absence of power. Peace is the presence of love.

If there is to be any peace it will come through being, not having.

The two singing accordionists made me smile immediately when I was passing by: their music sounded so happy and they had an impressive presence. The lady in front of me must have felt in a similar way!
I kinda liked the photo as it radiates the vibe of this unique moment :)

Even rusted and left to rot, these old cars had a presence, unlike so many vehicles today. For the most part today's vehicles look a lot alike. Seen in Dugald, Manitoba in March.
I last shot this tree back in November when it was resplendent in its autumn colour, now here we are in June and it still forms an impressive and imposing presence in green. Always a strange feeling when you walk under it knowing that weight is above you!!
A large monolithic presence rises from the ground, in a play of lights, reflections and fades.
The representation of power that takes shape in action, of consciousness that flows into knowledge, in a symbolic dialogue between thought and evolution.

If I should stay, I would only be in your way
So I'll go, but I know
I'll think of you every step of the way
And I will always love you
I will always love you
You, my darling you, hm
I hope life treats you kind
And I hope you have all you've dreamed of
And I wish to you joy and happiness
But above all this, I wish you love
And I will always love you
I will always love you

The ruins of St Andrews Cathedral Nave and East Tower.
Construction of the cathedral began in 1160 by Bishop Arnold and continued for 150 years until it was dedicated in 1318 in the presence of King Robert the Bruce. It was the largest church in Scotland at this time and a seat of religious power.
After the Reformation in 1560 the cathedral suffered much destruction and was abandoned in 1561.
Anyone who has followed me for more than a few years knew that I had an obsession with the elevator in Morrice, some maybe calling it unhealthy. After it was finally torn down a couple years ago, there really wasn't much reason to visit Morrice, until I started snooping around the other elevator in town that is far less appealing structurally, but has plenty of other things to work with. After discovering the WC was leading an overnight A491, I did my sleep deprivation routine and ventured out into the muggy night and began setting up. Just a few minutes before 5am, A491 comes flying through the small farming town alerting everyone to its presence, and me alerting them to mine with some speedlights.
Campiglia marittima, that is of the Maremma (in Latin Maritima), a medieval town considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, was already inhabited in the Etruscan and Roman times due to the wealth of minerals in the area. The first official document mentioning Campiglia dates back to 1004
A butterfly flew out as I walked on the trail. It's presence was an immediate delight. There are just some things that touch you and know the way right to your heart. And it's great that a simple presence, can cut through your life and remind you just who and what you are. Such a delight.
I was going to stop, to watch it as it fluttered and flew, but it didn't flit off into the flowers. It stayed, and showed me the way. I followed. We walked together down the trail, and it flew straight and true just right next to my shoulder, till a wind came, away it blew.
But it left me inspired and hoping that one day, it would return to reconnect and play.
