I didn't see this guy bring a fish in this time (too busy trying to get a decent photo through the small hole in the foliage at the time), but it looked like he was ripping some off for the family before heading back out, just moments after this shot.

Our neighbor says he has heard the chicks up there but my poor hearing has noted nothing yet.

I was challenged to a B&W series of images. Some will be created by the camera, some in editing software.

We take 1107 apart post Bug Invasion. It's in pretty good shape, giving us time to make some tweaks in advance of the Memorial Day weekend desert race in Yerinton, Nevada.

Getting ready for the spray-off-the-shaving-cream-from-your-partner's-face game. It took a turn a for the worse.

Day 4:

Finally finished prepping for our wiggly visitors. Just to recap....

Step one: Worms! Backyard worms are not recommended. If you're going to buy online, try to buy locally and don't let your worms get loose!

Step two: A home. You can make a home out of rubber, wood, or plastic to name a few. Make sure you have a lid to keep light out and avoid it from drying out.

Step three: Ventilation. Drill lots of tiny holes in your container on the bottom and along the sides, you want the water to have a way to escape and not drowned your buddies.

Step four: Interior Decorating. Cut out strips of unbleached corrugated cardboard or shredded newspaper, straw, dry grass, or some similar material. Sprinkle a handful of dirt on top, and thoroughly moisten. Allow the water to soak in for at least a day before adding worms.

Step five: Names. Start thinking of lots of names for your new friends!

I watched cataract surgery so I would understand the whole process. Pretty gross but fascinating.

Headmasters meet to discuss logistics | In preparation for the big week ahead, B2R volunteers Mark Darrough and Kat Watson have traveled to various distribution sites to meet with the local headmasters. The first was held at the school next to Bishop John’s cathedral, where the headmasters of 4 surrounding schools convened to square away the details of Drop Day 3, when 3,100 kids will receive shoes.
