You can see that the pots have identical cracks - obviously a weakness in the mould.
We weighed them down with bricks found at the bottom of the garden. Anything to stop the wind from taking them!

NASA astronaut Reid Wiseman checks his spacesuit in preparation for the first Expedition 41 spacewalk in this image, posted to social media by European Space Agency astronaut Alexander Gerst. Wiseman and Gerst will work outside the International Space Station for about 6-1/2 hours Tuesday, Oct. 7. They set their spacesuits to internal battery power at 8:30 a.m. EDT Tuesday morning, signifying the official start of the spacewalk. The spacewalkers will move a failed cooling pump from temporary to long-term storage on the station's truss. They also will install a new relay system that will provide backup power options to the mobile transporter, which moves the large robotic arm around the outside of the space station. > Wiseman and Gerst Conduct First Spacewalk of Expedition 41 Image Credit: NASA/ESA/Alexander Gerst via NASA ift.tt/1oN3KiG

While the men where thatching the roof, many women gathered in the home of the parents to prepare food for 30 man and the women. They were making taco shells in the shot. Right from scratch. The many, many scraped corn cobs testified to that. They were shy but willing. I did ask first. One of the older women did not want her picture taken so I just showed her what I had already taken. A young Peace Corp woman who was with us translated that the older woman gave very high praises to the photos. Still didn't get a picture but I was so grateful for what I was able to take.
While I was taking pictures, I was offered a drink made of cacao which is a pure form of chocolate---before fat and sugar. It was served in a half coconut shell. It was rather mild but refreshing and I was just amazed over their kind hospitality.

The downside was that you had to develop and print your own photos. Quite a pain in the ass.
These are some of the pictures that were either published, or I have prints of. The rule was that after 3 years you could go back and get your negatives. Unfortunately, I never made it back to Blacksburg untill 2 years ago. I asked, but since they apparently went all digital awhile ago, they are apparentl in archive somewhere, which nobody knows where it is, if they even still exist at all.
