I have yet to re-visit Florida since they upgraded Space Mountain. I only have good thoughts on what they did, and I am really hoping that they closed off the roof for 2 reasons. The first is because the queue lights were flooding into the attraction and it was too bright. I don’t want to see the faint outline of the track in front of me! Second, it adds suspense. Just like in Disneyland, when you can’t see the ride from the line you have no idea what to expect inside.
In nomadic families, the woman takes care of the food and the house. The food consists mainly in meat (cow, mutton and goat), some imported vegetables (carrot, potato, garlic and onion) and flour. Usually, they go to the nearest town or village to buy gasoline, food (processed food and vegetables), toilet paper, etc. All other things they prepare it by themselves: the wrappers for the dumplings, the minced meat, the noodles, etc.

As the guards passed above him, Kerrick grinned. They had not seen him enter his underground hideout. He jogged through the tunnel until he reached the end, where he swiftly opened a trapdoor. He descended the ladder into the storage room below. Only when he was safe inside the storage room, did he release his magic spell, revealing the bundle of weapons slung over his back. He carefully placed the weapons into a crate, and when that was done he uttered a short laugh. Soon his plan would be complete, and then Maldrake would pay for what he has done. Little did Kerrick know, that Maldrake was more clever than he seemed...

So I'm preparing for another exhibit here in Austin as a part of the E.A.S.T event they host here each year. This is probably one of the images I'll be selling as a small print at the show. This was a shot I took while I was wandering around the streets of Havanna in Cuba. A common practice there is for people to put their bird cages outside during the day. I'm not sure of the practical reason for this, but I chose to believe it was for the beauty of the sun to touch the bird and make it sing with joy. Many of the bird cages I passed while walking had a happily singing small bird inside, it was quite nice as a soundtrack to our strolls in the heat.
The reason I like this shot, and why I took it, was because of the light. It's that harsh mid day sun that most of us want to avoid. Certainly it's not a pleasurable experience walking around in it with high humidity and a large amount of camera gear on your back. But, the shadow, the cast shadow, caught my eye and intrigued me. I love how it makes the cage, which I shot from a "pure-front" angle, gets this fake 3D illustrative effect by being drawn back with this diagonal shadow lines.
It's just a really neat thing to see and wander upon, and it makes me think about ways I could possibly make that mid day sun work for me. Food for thought and creative inspiration.
