A female Snapping Turtle digging her nest into which she will lay her eggs. This is near the shore of Lake Loree at the Sunny Hill Resort in Greenville in New York's Catskill Mountains.
It's over - the summer visitors collect on the telegraph wires in the dawn light, and prepare for their long journey to southern Africa. The barn swallows are a regular feature under the eaves of our house - and countless other nesting sites in the farms and houses around here. A marker of the change of the seasons, as regular as harvesting.
Happy Telegraph Tuesday 😊
And it might come by next week! Actually the planning for this came in late May when it looked like there might not be much grass for the cattle. Thus farmer planted more widely. The rains came a just the right time and a fairly significant crop was taken off this field.
... sorry, but i really love this one....

Hope you like this one of a goldfinch. Was hoping for an inflight shot, but this surpassed my expectation.

I love watching gulls, they can be so very entertaining :-) I didn't even need to give them chips hahaha.
I arrived home safe and sound yesterday evening. I miss dad already, i had such a great time seeing him and also going down to Victoria to see grandpa and his partner was great too. The only thing that wasn't great, the complete opposite of great actually was of course... the bush fires.
Mum is very pleased i am home, nothing compared to the cat though. He's super happy i am back!

Pair of SD50-2s (5018, 5019) head back to Port Clinton and will relieve the steam engines for the final dash to Reading. One of the crew members is preparing to dismount.
Kingfisher knocking the living daylights out of a poor fish at Otterbourne in Hampshire. Although I might have swapped to a faster shutter speed had it not all been over so quickly, I like the dramatic effect!
These large, watchful birds are always a pleasure to capture "in action."

Coming to a stop just short of the South switch at Wasa, the way freight's conductor exits the comfort of his freshy refurbished SD40-2 to line the switch for his route which had been previously left in reverse by a meet that took place earlier in the day.
I've been wanting to get a photo of the other 2 minifigures that came with Poe's X-Wing fighter. I spotted them rushing off to somewhere, so I took this quick photo :-)
My arrival shot.I won't say just yet where I am until I take some photos, which makes more sense to me.Enjoy the flight.
After a dull start the weather was forecast to improve later. There were two booked trains here, the Corby to Margam was cancelled which I expected. I wasn't going to bother for one train but decided to when seeing what was on 6V84. As I hoped this took a similar path to 6V92 meaning a better lit shot and a chance to get home sooner to prepare for my night shift.
Best wishes to Roger and Dean who were with me today.
Climbed a hill, left my inhaler at home so nearly died. Farmers on the Ayrshire coast preparing for the winter ahead.
