On average, the moon rises about 50 minutes later each day. But when a full moon happens close to the autumn equinox, the moon (at mid-temperate latitudes) rises only about 30 to 35 minutes later daily for several days before and after the full Harvest moon. For very high northern latitudes, there’s even less time between successive moonrises. It happens because the ecliptic – or the moon’s orbital path – makes a narrow angle with the evening horizon near the autumn equinox.

The inflationary pressures brought by the cost-of-living crisis continue to squeeze wages around the country. A pandemic hangover means many people have left the labour market and are not looking for work, whilst more are taking time away from work due to long-covid and burnout.

The government has announced a welcome package of support, however with the Bank of England predicting a recession by the end of this year, more help will be needed. As well as the support they are already offering during the cost-of-living crisis, civil society and employment support organisations will increasingly be needed to play the vital role of helping those who struggle to find work, and those who want to advance in their career, to move into better paid and fulfilling jobs. However, facing the same inflationary pressures—where should they focus their resources in the face of rising demand, and what should government do to ease this burden?

It's back. Never before has an observed supernova been predicted. The unique astronomical event occurred in the field of galaxy cluster MACS J1149.5+2223. Most bright spots in the featured image are galaxies in this cluster. The actual supernova, dubbed Supernova Refsdal, occurred just once far across the universe and well behind this massive galaxy cluster. Gravity caused the cluster to act as a massive gravitational lens, splitting the image of Supernova Refsdal into multiple bright images. One of these images arrived at Earth about ten years ago, likely in the upper red circle, and was missed. Four more bright images peaked in April in the lowest red circle, spread around a massive galaxy in the cluster as the first Einstein Cross supernova. But there was more. Analyses revealed that a sixth bright supernova image was likely still on its way to Earth and likely to arrive within the next year. Earlier this month -- right on schedule -- this sixth bright image was recovered, in the middle red circle, as predicted. The Canadian immigration system underwent a dramatic improvement in the past decade. There was a marked increase in the number of permanent residents, foreign workers, and international students in Canada. The radical transformation of Canada’s economic class program contributed to the changes in family and refugee class programs. Experts predict that the coming decade will also see some major developments considering that the country is in need of more immigrant labor.

The country has made its intention of welcoming over 3 million permanent residents in the coming decade clear. One of the primary reasons why the country needs this boost in immigration levels is the aging population. The low birth rate is also an important factor to consider. Welcoming more immigrants will fill in the labor gap so that Canada can flourish.

The population in Canada increase by around 1% every year. Natural increase makes up for just 20% of annual population growth. Immigration accounts for the remaining 80%, and that alone speaks volumes about Canada's affinity for newcomers. The natural increase might even fall to almost zero in the next decade, which would mean that immigration would make up the entire 100% of the country's population growth. Without healthy population growth, it becomes impossible to stimulate economic activity and maintain the country's high quality of life.

If Canada wishes that the population continues to increase by 1% annually, it might need to increase the newcomer target from 350,000 in 2021 to around 400,000 per year by the end of the decade. If the current state is anything to go by, Canada might welcome over 3.5 million permanent residents in the next decade. This would mark a 25% increase and allow the country to move forward without any obstacles. Canada’s federal government allows employers, provinces, and post-secondary institutions to play a major role in immigrant selection.

It's back. Never before has an observed supernova been predicted. The unique astronomical event occurred in the field of galaxy cluster MACS J1149.5+2223. Most bright spots in the featured image are galaxies in this cluster. The actual supernova, dubbed Supernova Refsdal, occurred just once far across the universe and well behind this massive galaxy cluster. Gravity caused the cluster to act as a massive gravitational lens, splitting the image of Supernova Refsdal into multiple bright images. One of these images arrived at Earth about ten years ago, likely in the upper red circle, and was missed. Four more bright images peaked in April in the lowest red circle, spread around a massive galaxy in the cluster as the first Einstein Cross supernova. But there was more. Analyses revealed that a sixth bright supernova image was likely still on its way to Earth and likely to arrive within the next year. Earlier this month -- right on schedule -- this sixth bright image was recovered, in the middle red circle, as predicted. Studying image sequences like this help humanity to understand how matter is distributed in galaxies and clusters, how fast the universe expands, and how massive stars explode. via NASA ift.tt/1NItoRO
