While hunting insects along a canal trail I happened to notice a butterfly that had been fluttering about some flowering plants a moment before suddenly begin to show signs of distress, including difficulty flying (fluttering upside down, etc.). Upon closer examination I discovered the cause of the insect's distress: a spider that was presumably lurking among the flowers had latched onto the butterfly, with both predator and prey now suspended by a single strand of the spider's silk.

I always thought this is a humble vegetarian grasshopper, far from it....this is skillful predator which pray on other insects.

1st day of painting for my Predator. I found the Scab red I usually use for an undercoat to be to bright when used over a large area so I mixed it with scorched brown. This had the additional benefit of being a thicker coat of paint. When I'd finished I felt it was to red and so decided to add the Charcoal in various places all over. I like where it's going... ^_^

I am told this fish is a pike. I saw some people looking in the water at Clare and there were lots of fish. Amongst them, laying very still, was this predator.
