Not for any group- Just for me...
Was bored, playing with CS4 today and kind of liked the result- mot my usual style, maybe that's why I like it...Reminds me of the Predator's view from the movie...so what's the pic of? can you tell? is it too obvious?....

First off, I would like to say that I FINALLY FOUND A JUMPER! Secondly, this is cropped about as much as the bee's eye was and was taken with all of the tubes at once. It has made me appreciate just how fierce these guys are. They are about 1/8th of an inch long in most cases, but are some of the most successful of natures predators.
Can't wait for the Raynox to arrive. Also, sorry it's underexposed, the flash ring was running low but I didn't want to trap the poor fella (He had already rejected the pretzel bits I offered him for food).

1st day of painting for my Predator. I found the Scab red I usually use for an undercoat to be to bright when used over a large area so I mixed it with scorched brown. This had the additional benefit of being a thicker coat of paint. When I'd finished I felt it was to red and so decided to add the Charcoal in various places all over. I like where it's going... ^_^
Interesting place the Monterey Aquarium. Natural light was interesting so I snapped a few shots.

Shy Mollymawk (or shy albatross) – Diomedea cauta
A medium sized albatross that breeds off Australia and New Zealand's sub-Antarctic islands and ranges extensively across the Southern Ocean. They belong to Diomedeidae family and come from the Procellariiformes order, along with Shearwaters, Fulmars, Storm-petrels, and Diving-petrels.
Three subspecies breed in the New Zealand region – identifiable by size, plumage and bill colours – NZ white-capped mollymawk (steadi), Salvin’s mollymawk (salvini) and Chatham Island mollymawk (eremita).
They share certain identifying features. First, they have nasal passages that attach to the upper bill called naricorns. Although the nostrils on the Albatross are on the sides of the bill. The bills of Procellariiformes are also unique in that they are split into between 7 and 9 horny plates. Finally, they produce a stomach oil made up of wax esters and triglycerides that is stored in the proventriculus. This is used against predators as well as an energy rich food source for chicks and for the adults during their long flights. They also have a salt gland that is situated above the nasal passage and helps desalinate their bodies, due to the high amount of ocean water that they imbibe. It excretes a high saline solution from their nose. They frequently follow fishing boats. The Shy Albatross feeds by a combination surface-seizing and some pursuit diving - it has been recorded diving as deep as 5 m (16 ft) – feeding on fish, cephalapods, crustacea, and tunicates . Breeds on rocky islands in the subantarctic regions of New Zealand and Australia except for eremita which breeds on a rocky site in the Chathams Islands. They build a mounded nest of soil, grass, and roots. They lay one egg in the second half of September. The white-capped and salvins mollymawks range widely in the southern ocean. The Chathams sub species is rarely seen away from their home islands.
