On 27/02/19 I kept an eye on the 0E19 move from Longport EMD to Hull KGV Docks, to convey 66998 back for export. It was always going to be tight as it was booked through Derby at precisely 1700...when I finish uni! Luckily I finished early and as I went through the ticket barriers, Northern Belle 57312 passed by...that was that then!
As the ensemble went away towards a green signal, they ended up stopping short. This was because a party from ROG had met the train, and one member went to change the tail lamp, which appeared to be a bike light strapped to the lamp bracket with cable ties! He added a standard lamp, then thankfully the crew had a brief chat, during which time I'd run up the platform (with bike) and got just one photo. I also got one video on my phone of the lot departing...I can actually be heard panting in the video!
This is a phone picture as there was not time to get my camera out...below is the video:
M-FWPR sits at Yard Center with KCSM 4527, a rare Grey KCS De Mexico AC4400 The crew had just been informed to tie down after only making it from Villa Grove to Yard Center in about 6 hours. Precision Railroading takes a back seat in some cases, it seems.
Seen arriving Oshkosh, WI as part of the 2016 Wisconsin Special Olympics Truck Convoy. Always a great event!!

Precision National SD24 6302 on the BN at Clyde, Illinois on an unknown day in May 1979, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built in October 1959 as Southern SD24 2504 ( c/n 15600 ) on EMD Order 5606. It was renumbered by the Southern to 6302. It was purchased by PNC during January 1978 and put into a lease pool, first leased to the Milwaukee Road and later to the BN. During 1979 it was sent to the Milwaukee Road for rebuilding. During the rebuilding the turbocharger and dynamic brakes were removed, resulting in an 1800 horsepower locomotive. Precision classed it as a SD10, numbered it 1802, and leased it to the BN for about a year. It was later leased to the C&NW and ultimately purchased by the C&NW, becoming C&NW SD18R 6624.

I've really wanted to catch one of CP's "heritage" scheme SD70ACUs leading a train ever since they were released. As with prior heritage unit series (UP's, NS's, Amtrak's) it seemed like I was cursed when it came to getting them; with them always seeming to lead on inclement weather days, come through when I was stuck at work, etc.
It looked like this unseasonably pleasant Sunday in February would be no exception; I was gritting my teeth based on reports that 7010 was leading eastbound manifest 288 along the River and Tomah Subdivisions in the morning. Due to being short-staffed at work, my usual 3AM-noon Monday-Friday schedule was switched to Sunday-Thursday; with me working 5AM-2PM on alternate Sundays, including this one.
However, thanks to frequent updates posted to Facebook by railfans located further west, I calculated I would have time to grab my gear and beat the train here after work. It's not the most stellar of shots, but being an eastbound in the late afternoon my options were somewhat limited. In the last three days I've now gotten on the board for military tribute and heritage SD70ACUs, after having been 0-fer on the units until Friday the 21st!

Big Boy holds the main at Wolf Siding while a bare table "I Train" runs around them. The I train will go into storage at Hackberry about 150 miles west and the special will pass it on the next days leg of their trip.
The United States Air Force Thunderbirds aerial demonstration team flies in formation during an open house and air show May 10, 2014, at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. The event provided more than 300,000 visitors an opportunity to learn more about America's only tri-service joint base, which included demonstrations and static displays of aircraft and vehicles from all five services and various civilian agencies. 7.62x51mm battle rifle.
EDIT 10/19/15 - Replaced the pistol grip with an ergonomic version, enhancing stability and accuracy.
A powerful battle rifle developed and manufactured by Barton Precision Industries, the BR-28 combines simplicity with precision.
Created from a mix of SC-2010 and ACE-21 parts, it features the receiver, handguard and sights of the former, and the stock, magazine and mag release of the latter. Combined, it creates an easy to use platform that has found favor with law enforcement and criminals alike.
Its main drawback is its low rate of fire of 600 RPM. Paltry by today's standards, but sufficient enough to provide sustained. accurate fire. However, there are proposed future iterations with increased fire rates.
This particular BR-28 is equipped with a bipod-grip combo, muzzle brake, and a Barton Precision 5.5x magnification "EZ-Scope".

The Kuikuro is today, the people with the largest population in the Upper Xingu. They are a sub-system with other Carib groups who speak dialectal variants of the same language (Kalapalo, and Matipu Nahukwá) and make the multilingual system known as the Upper Xingu, in the southern IT Xingu Indigenous Park. In the history of formation of this system, the Carib peoples are considered as important as aruak (Waura and Mehinaku), although it confers on its aruak initial matrix. Kuikuros are the producers of the famous snail necklaces and belts by which continue to play a specific role in the traditional system of trade and payments system of the upper Xingu. For other cultural and social aspects, such as shamanism, cosmology and rituals or celebrations, the Xingu Indigenous Park section presents elements that are also among the Kuikuro.
