Ramona was the second generation Czechoslovak electronic support measures (ESM) system that uses measurements of time difference of arrival (TDOA) of pulses at three or four sites to accurately detect and track airborne emitters by multilateration.
Ramona's designation was KRTP-81 and it carried the NATO reporting name of Soft Ball. The serial number was derived from the Czech phrase "Komplet radiotechnického průzkumu" meaning "Radiotechnical Reconnaissance Set". A later upgraded version was designated KRTP-81M. Ramona was deployed in 1979 and could semi-automatically track 20 targets simultaneously. It superseded Kopáč.
Each receiver comprised a large spherical radome mounted on the top of a 25 m fixed mast. This radome, made of identical segments of polyurethane foam, contained the radio antennas and the microwave components, intermediate frequency preamplifiers and the two-way communications equipment for communicating between central and side sites. At first glance the system bore a striking resemblance to typical Eastern European water towers.

The dream preamplifier of every hi-fi friend (and me) from the 70s and for many certainly still today.
"Aiming for the highest level of control amplifier, this control amplifier is equipped with excellent basic performance and extensive adjustment functions" is the comment of the "Audio Database" on the CA-3000 from the Sansui "Definition" series.
The structure and the technical design of the heavy preamp (14kg) is uncompromising and built for eternity.

Patches at 1.5 years of age.
Patches likes to lie on the warm amplifier. In an attempt to keep her off of the equipment, I bought a hot water bottle for her to lie on, but she wasn't interested in it.
This terracotta fragment, the oldest piece in our collection, dates back to the late Roman period in Sardis, Turkey. Measuring just over 2 inches in length, its original purpose is unknown - perhaps it was part of a small sculpture, ornament, or even a toy. While it may not be valuable, I find its weathered beauty fascinating. Captured using my Micro Nikkor 105mm 1:2.8G lens on the black surface of my stereo preamplifier, with natural light filtering in through the Venetian blind above.

the old vinyl and record player, I still listen to it for its warm and natural sound. Warning: Be sure you are old enough to comment...just kidding.
Just getting everything in place after a major living room remodel. Soooo glad to get it back.. Just a quick shot with the doors open. Going clockwise from the top left.. Rega P3-24 with great old Audio Technica cartridge and several upgrades - Rega TT-PSU speed control - Graham Slee V Era Gold phono preamp - Bluesound Node 2022 - VPI Scout II - Rega Exact II cartridge - Apple TV - Parasound P6 preamplifier - Parasound HCA-1500A amplifier - Rega Apollo CD player - Sony blue-ray player - hidden behind the right door is a TiVo antenna only unit. All that equipment is powering a pair of KEF R3s fed with Kimber 8VS cables, with a pair of REL HT-1205 subwoofers. TV is wall mounted above it all.
I have since added my Schiit Jotunheim headphone amp and Schiit Bifrost II DAC to the top of the cabinet.

The C-4 preamplifiers characterized by the use of high quality components. The properties are responsible for the Yamaha "Natural Sound" at its time and until today. In addition, I've got it after 40 years of operation, a complete recapping. All condensers / capacitors were replaced by new low-ESR capacitors.
The phono section flexible was already at that time a selling reason. Two MM and one MC input with variable sensitivity / impedance matching standard until today. The tone control with transition selection offers plenty of options for sound adjustment. 2 amp outputs make it a universal preamplifier. The sale price was very reasonable at USD 1.000.
I like the clear independent cosmetic Yamaha design with fine workmanship, such as haptics to enjoy the “Natural Sound”.

Circa 1975 Sony PS-4750 Turntable with Shure V15V-MR Cartridge is still enjoyed, a daily driver, now powered by a Schitt Mani Phono Preamplifier. It get's all there is in the groove to get, but without features which make cartridge alignment at all easy, I don't use this turntable for cartridge evaluation. It just takes too many hours to get precision alignment of cartridge, so cartridge evaluation is performed using a Technics SL-1210GR.

Optonica was the high-end brand of Sharp in seventies.
The Optonica SM-3000 presents full features: preamplifier outputs, phono 1 attentuator -6dB, for phono 2 three-stage impedance matching. Bass/treble variable turnover control. Lowpass and highpass filters and -20dB muting adjustment.
An underrated amplifier that can compete with major brands like Sansui, Pioneer, Sony, Marantz & co.
The 45 watts per channel integrated amp is unusual solidly constructed for long life and guarantees fun for the vintage amp owner.

Also my Phono Preamplifier is nothing too fancy from this French Audio Company, which makes exquisite Preamps, Power Amps and CD-Players. ( The CD 50 or better the CD 100 as upgrade to my old Denon CD Player....)

The state of the art preamp from the Sansui "Definition Series" CA-3000. Massive construction and selected components made this unit to legend. It sounds superb until today.
I'm so happy to got this dream amp in a good condition

High End Preamp from the late 70's. It's the improved "B" version of the Model 3250. Very fine phono section.
The model 3250B incorporates a built-in MC (Moving Coil) phono preamp, a feature rarely seen in vintage audio pieces. Exceptional user comfort with all sounded controller options.
Sounds and looks good in mint shape.

My Audio Note AN-E/SPe HEs have finally arrived after being ordered this spring and I'm blown away at what they are capable of straight out of the box. Just incredible.
My sofa finally arrived from California after six-weeks of waiting. Getting all that cloth, leather and wood into the space is a huge help in room acoustics, I just need to get the drapes made to really help deaden the room as it is still too hot on some freqs.

About 9 years ago I bought this NAP110 power amplifier together with a NAC42XO preamplifier. The preamplifier turned out to be in working order, but the power amplifier was not. I tried to fix it myself, but my skills were not good enough. In the end I converted it into a power supply for a NAC12 preamplifier, using an Avondale TPR2 module. That's how it's been working all these 9 years. However, recently a hi-fi audio designer unexpectedly offered me his services to repair this amplifier. It took him about an hour to make the repair, and some more time to reassemble the unit and order and install new capacitors in the power supply. And now the unit is back in business.
Thank you, Anton!
