I really need to hang these on my porch so that the wind can pass through but they are so delicate to me that I hang them on my porch window. I need to look into getting a larger version of flags to hang. The colors symbolize the Five Pure Lights are as follows;
Blue (sky/space)
White (air/wind)
Red (fire)
Green (water)
Yellow (earth)[

An old friend from high school is going through a hard time right now.
Wherever she is, I pray she's given the strength to make it back home.
There is a large prayer drum on the verandah of the main shrine at Puh Toh Tze temple, the type they show you in the movies an all. My, that thing would create quite a racket if banged on. A small notice at the base of the drum of course asks visitors not to bang on it. Not there there are any drumsticks around though. This temple appeared to be a rather scaled down version of the large Taoist temple I'd seen in Cebu in the Philippines in May 2013. (Kota Kinabalu, East Malaysia, Nov. 2013)
I have never -- EVER -- seen anything like this in America. I completely flipped when I saw it.
In the Citystars mall between Nasr-City and Heliopolis.
I asked some ice cream shop where there's an area to pray in the mall, turns out there's a section devoted entirely to prayers -- including wudu. And to top it off, not only is there a section in the mall, there are signs -- SIGNS -- that show a man prostrating into sajada. I mean I'm not surprised considering Egypt IS a Muslim country, but it's still shocking to see it!

According to the lineage texts on prayer wheels, prayer wheels are used to accumulate wisdom and merit (good karma) and to purify negativities (bad karma). In Buddhism, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have created a variety of skillful means (upaya) to help bring practitioners ever closer to realizing enlightenment. The idea of spinning mantras relates to numerous Tantric practices whereby the Tantric practitioner visualizes mantras revolving around the nadis and especially around the meridian chakras such as the heart and crown. Therefore, prayer wheels are a visual aid for developing one's capacity for these types of Tantric visualizations. The spiritual method for those practicing with a prayer wheel is very specific (with slight variations according to different Buddhist sects). The practitioner most often spins the wheel clockwise, as the direction in which the mantras are written is that of the movement of the sun across the sky.
