Medical Friendly Shelter Full Scale Exercise 2018
The City held a full-scale exercise of the Medically Friendly Shelter (MFS) designed to establish a learning environment for participants to exercise their MFS operational plans.
The exercise served as a practical walk through of planning, operational coordination, operational communication, logistics and supply chain management, public health, healthcare, and emergency medical services
The MFS is only activated for a Category 2 or greater hurricane or as directed by the City Manager. The MFS is for people who, during periods of evacuation or emergency, require sheltering assistance due to physical, mental or cognitive impairment, or a sensory disability that exceeds the basic level of care provided at a general population shelter, but does not require the level of care provided at a skilled medical facility. This includes help with administering medication, personal hygiene assistance with activities of daily living (washing, dressing and eating).

So I went up to Syracuse, NE a week ago to take promos for my friends' upcoming band Maximus, and afterwards, they had practice... I definitely forgot that I had this picture.
In this picture: Ransom gettin' gnarly
This was close to twilight, shot across the Savannah River, maybe a quarter mile away..Handheld I might add..The IS obviously helped here.
More practice from the Claudia Nice " Painting Trees in Every Season" article. This was done using the "Throw-Spray-Flow" technique.
Win was a (sort of) willing participant in the trial run of our new ErgoBaby carrier. Thanks Dave and Patsy!
(Win ended up liking it despite his initial skepticism.)
Taken at the 2009 Montgomery County (Maryland) Thanksgiving Parade in Silver Spring. The Montgomery Blair High School Blazer Music band warms up before the parade. Of all of the units I saw before the parade, Montgomery Blair was the most energetic and enthusiastic.
still practicing my "off-cam" skills..this time I wanted something "sunny"...
Any comments or suggestions (even bad ones are very much welcome...I'm here to learn)
Strobist info- sb-26 (FULL POWER) on light stand to the right of model.
Camera was set at 250 f13
I took this one a few weeks ago actually, but it got buried under a lot of other shots until now.
I was in Lakewood Park, and this man was practicing his instrument, and I thought the clouds and the background made for a great shot! Glad I had my camera with me to get this one.
@jake_dalton He flies, he soars, he pulled double arabian like nobody's business, he can walk on water (sort of)
