Why you break out the surf rod and practice while having your 10 and 12 year old daughters retrieve the (hookless) lure! Medical Friendly Shelter Full Scale Exercise 2018
The City held a full-scale exercise of the Medically Friendly Shelter (MFS) designed to establish a learning environment for participants to exercise their MFS operational plans.
The exercise served as a practical walk through of planning, operational coordination, operational communication, logistics and supply chain management, public health, healthcare, and emergency medical services
The MFS is only activated for a Category 2 or greater hurricane or as directed by the City Manager. The MFS is for people who, during periods of evacuation or emergency, require sheltering assistance due to physical, mental or cognitive impairment, or a sensory disability that exceeds the basic level of care provided at a general population shelter, but does not require the level of care provided at a skilled medical facility. This includes help with administering medication, personal hygiene assistance with activities of daily living (washing, dressing and eating).

This was my first attempt at Waldorf style doll making. Actually she's my first doll! I have three boys and have never really had a reason to make dolls.
I didn't have the traditional Waldorf materials on hand, and wanted to practice on something a little less expensive than the pricey tricot from the Netherlands and the equally pricey wool stuffing, so she's made with bamboo velour for her skin and stuffed with polyfill. I didn't have any tubular gauze so I used an old nylon knee-high stocking to shape the head. I made her body pattern and that's the only part of her I'm not thrilled with. Her torso is too long and I should have curved her arms, but overall I think she's sweet. She'll be a gift for my niece. Now that I've had a taste of doll making I think I'm hooked. Hybrid Ixora, a continually-flowering tropical shrub.
Hadn't shot any flowers since a 2-day practice period, a month after I got a digital camera.
These are outside the lobby entrance of my apartment building, and caught my eye, for some reason, Friday afternoon, September 29, 2006.
Took several, using the D70s's various modes, including manual, and "aperture preferred." This one, set to "Closeup" program was the only one I liked of the several shots I took, and was in late afternoon's deep shade, so the flash fired.
