Medical Friendly Shelter Full Scale Exercise 2018
The City held a full-scale exercise of the Medically Friendly Shelter (MFS) designed to establish a learning environment for participants to exercise their MFS operational plans.
The exercise served as a practical walk through of planning, operational coordination, operational communication, logistics and supply chain management, public health, healthcare, and emergency medical services
The MFS is only activated for a Category 2 or greater hurricane or as directed by the City Manager. The MFS is for people who, during periods of evacuation or emergency, require sheltering assistance due to physical, mental or cognitive impairment, or a sensory disability that exceeds the basic level of care provided at a general population shelter, but does not require the level of care provided at a skilled medical facility. This includes help with administering medication, personal hygiene assistance with activities of daily living (washing, dressing and eating).

Tai-Chi practice. A night fooling around the "cité des sciences et de l'industrie", we heard some music near la Géode. The guy was there, under the bridge, practicing Tai-Chi and not caring about the people around him, pretty much like he was in his own sphere.

I've been using Samsung camera for around three years and I bought four Samsung cameras. Now Samsung provided me with a new Compact System Camera NX300 so I went out to test it last week.
Sketched quickly from the imagination (really just plop down the washes and let it go where it may). I'm using these to practice technique without getting "attached" to the work. I think I'll be doing quite a few of these for a while.

One thing that our camera club participates in during the summer is a panoramic photo contest with other clubs in the surrounding states. I need to practice - there are a ton of things to consider. One of the hardest parts for me is editing them. One good way is to dig up older photos and re-edit them.
My friend Chris had an interesting post on his blog today regarding Panos - you can catch it here.
This one never made it to Flickr, until now. Lincoln Park looking back from North Blvd towards the city. 9 shot HDR and 4 panels. That was 36 total pictures (this is why I say the editing is the hard part). I'd love to hear about any comments - both positive and constructive.
