Black Narcissus (Narcisse noir and its Effects on Others)

As amateur, we always ask how to improve our photography.

Many have said practice, practice and practice more. So shoot more (explore, experiment, exercise) and shoot less (be more critical on your subject and ask questions why, how, what etc before you click the shutter).

It may be useful to find a guiding light on your road of photography. Try to learn from a great master in photography. Study the works, experiences or teachings from the masters that you admire.

Or you may find a mentor. He/she may not be a photographer. Photography is like life. You need to learn more than just the how-to techniques for photography. A mentor we are talking here is not a person who teaches you Photoshop, or the one who shows you the rules of composition. Instead he/she would be someone who leads you to more questions about yourself and questions about the world (and he/she may not give you the answers).

So go and find the guiding light for you.

This is the lighthouse I saw when I was en-route to Cristo Rei in my Lisbon vacation this year.

These portraits of plants, have been made for many different reasons but always for the JOY of it. All of my photographs are daytime, made in city parks and gardens and virtually straight out of the camera with the absolute minimum of post processing.

Thank you for all of your support with my picture making

I am busy packing at the moment. After thirty one years I am moving from London to Berlin, where I will continue to broaden my horizons and make my pictures. I have been working between the two cities since 2016 and decided to make the move permanent when I secured the tenancy of a beautiful apartment in January.

I have been in my glorious little Londonshire Hobbit hole for thirteen of this thirty one years and it has been the most perfect home for that time. It is not many people who can say they have lived in a jasmine covered cottage in Central London.

I am returning to London in mid September to prepare for a solo exhibition in October. I will share details very soon.

Thank you once again for all of your support

Schuttberg and Schwarzwälder Schinken Sandwiches

So this is the project for 2011 , dreams and slices of life in a mono square . In the year ahead there will be blur , movement and processing . there will also be wild experiments with high iso and whatever home made filter comes to hand to stick in front of the lens, all trapped inside a square . it mightn`t suit everyone but i hope to have fun doing it and seeing where it takes me ;-))

This is the 1st of 2 BIF shots I took when I went out to the Sacramento NWR last December to see all the snow geese that were migrating. I try to shoot BIF every chance I get but I'm afraid I'm not very good at it. I've not practiced very much so I always hope for the best. I think my biggest problem is tracking them. I'm still trying to figure out what settings work for shooting white and dark birds, any suggestions would be appreciated.
