I'm planning to do a block with 4 of these squares. Since I've never pieced curves before*, I thought I should make a practice square. This one came out pretty well, so I think I can move ahead to Julie's fabrics.
This is a 6" square, using Drunkard's Path templates I downloaded here.
Julie's will have a white background and use some of these beautiful fabrics.
* Who am I kidding? I'm a total quilting newbie. I've never even made a quilt before. I'm working on my first one though!

I've been practicing my off-camera flash today, and dragged the husband outside for a few minutes at sunset. It was pretty dang dark, so I couldn't really see what I was doing, and it was super hard to focus. I just kind of did what I could. Hopefully we get another cool sunset this week to practice some more on.
After our fun 80's themed practice, we had a 90's themed practice! Drills included "Beavis and Butthead", "Schwing!" and "Come on Ride the Train" (to name a few), while skaters dressed in their best 90's gear. We saw a lot of flannel that night, alongside Looney Tunes, neon patterns, and Britney Spears.
