Scania N113CRL with Alexander PS bodywork in Woburn Park Bedfordshire September 1989, where it attended that year's Showbus rally. One of three buses trialled by LBL to assess the next generation of heavyweight single-decks. The other two were an Optare Delta and a Northern Counties bodied Renault PR100. Only the Delta was chosen, the other two returned to their respective owners.
Un dels materials més característics de les linies B1 i B2 de Sarbus eren els cotxes de la serie 601-609. La primera subserie 601-604 eren Renault PR100.2 amb carrosseria Unicar U90.1.
The Renault PR100 was the diesel version of their ER100 trolleybus and F100AKB was a demonstrator that eventually saw service with Hornsbys: www.flickr.com/photos/emdjt42/3802304786. It is currently painted in this fictitious East London livery and was pictured at The Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft on October 29th 2022.
Not what it seems. Renault supplied five PR100s with Northern Counties body as demonstrators. East London Bus & Coach Co had this for a short while and then had, G276 VML - RN 1 - but no more were bought. This one has been in preservation since 2007.

Seen at the Netley Bus Rally in the Royal Victoria Country Park in July 1990 is London Buses Renault PR100.2 / Northern Counties B48F RN1 G276VML. New in 1989, this bus would pass to Parfitt's of Rhymney Bridge in 1993 and then on to Hornsby of Ashby in 1994.
Aulnay-sous-Bois again, and this striking machine is a Heuliez GX107. Mechanically, this is a Renault PR100.2 underframe, clothed in a rather funkier body than the standard Renault creation. Heuliez’ arrangement to body Mercedes-Benz products ceased when Mercedes replaced the old O305 model with the new O405, and rather surprisingly they turned to rival Renault as their new chassis supplier. The GX107 design had started out as something of a concept bus, and even by the time it went into production its looks hadn’t been watered down that much.
Certainly it was one step ahead of the PR100 in terms of wow factor, although I always got the impression it wasn’t as well built – later in life it wasn’t uncommon to see long rust streaks from the corners of those big, square windows. That might have been superficial, but to me it looked like an indicator of nasty things going on under the skin.
TRA bought both PR100.2s and GX107s in equal measure. 5134 was new in 1990 but three years on is looking a bit careworn. It should have wheeltrims but they’ve disappeared somewhere along the line. I was never 100% sure of the GX107’s bold styling – I love the huge windscreen curving into the roof, but the mismatched window sizes jar a bit with me and the rear view is all a bit too conventional when compared with the rest of the body. Nonetheless it sold well and could be found with urban fleets all over France, including many in the outer Paris suburbs. However, with the exception of two of the articulated version of this bus (the GX187), RATP steered clear, preferring the bona fide Renault product.
The first time that I photographed former Renault PR100/1 Northern Counties demonstrator F100AKB at The Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft was in 2009 when it was still in Hornsby Travel livery: www.flickr.com/photos/emdjt42/3802304786. The East London RN100 livery was originally carried by a sister vehicle.

Hornsby WUK 155 has just left Scunthorpe Bus Station on service 60 to Whitton. New in 1988 as a demonstrator for the manufacturers and originally registered F100 AKB, it is a Renault PR100.2 with bodywork constructed by Northern Counties. Hornsby acquired it at the end of its demonstration duties and reregistered it as WUK 155.
Upon withdrawal by Hornsby, it would be acquired for preservation with its original registration F100 AKB, and has been restored in the livery of East London Buses (RN100).

Hornsby's G276 VML is leaving Scunthorpe on service 4 to Brigg and Wrawby. The second bus of its type to join the Hornsby fleet, it is a Renault PR100.2 with bodywork constructed in the UK by Northern Counties. It was new in 1989 as London Buses RN1 for a period of evaluation, subsequently passing to Parfitts, Rhymney Bridge before coming to Hornsby.
