GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE: WINNING IN THE CHINA MARKET
Presented by Air China
China’s shift toward domestic consumption will create opportunities for both foreign and domestic brands to sell products in China. Luxury goods are in demand, and China’s 350-million-strong middle class is displaying a growing appetite for cars, clothes, and travel. How are the best Chinese companies building their businesses? What do foreign brands need to do to compete?

Challenge 4: A Suitable Twist
Challenge: Use a men's suit as both inspiration and fabric to create a high fashion look.
Designer: Brie
Model: Skye
I will admit, this challenge totally intimidated me. Taking apart those tiny little seams and remaking it into a high fashion outfit. I deconstructed during an airing of Frozen, and tried to imagine how all these pieces would fit back together into a cohesive design. My idea kept changing and evolving in my head until finally this is what resulted. I used the pants inside and out on the bodice so there's a lovely contrast between velvet and shine, then did a cute little polka dot skirt, with a long petticoat in white with pink polka dots.
I'd like to think that if there wasn't the newborn constantly wanting attention my design would have been better, but at least we aren't really being judged because the tape holding the bodice together in the back would have definitely lost me some points.
Challenge 2: We Expect Fashion
Create fashionable maternity clothes
Time: Two days
Budget: $10
Model: Kit
Designer: Brie
This week I wanted to show off Kit's "curves" with a lovely fitted dress that could be dressed up or down. I created the design on my plum fabric using white fabric paint and I love how it contours to her body shape. What's really great is since the fabric has so much stretch, once the twins pop out, Kit can still wear this gown.
