We marketed these unique jewelry items back in the 70's. They were considered legal by the DEA since the leaves were permanently embedded in plastic. This rough (16mm to digital conversion) clip is from a local TV station in Indianapolis that ran the original story. Sorry that some of the audio/video is missing from this clip. We sold this novelty jewelry for only $5 each and had many different ideas from bracelets to toilet seats, etc.

The steak tartare.
I've made these before (just in case the fritters didn't turn out), and I love steak tartare and wanted to share the experience. I tinkered with the recipe until it was to my taste (more spicing and capers/more anchovies because I love anchovies) and I think it was a hit. SO loved it, and so did I. I served it on top of toasted slices of ficelle from Iggy's Bakery.

DC#1 had an idea after browsing a food blog and decided to make these egg custards. I believe there were a few liberties taken in following the recipe (no dashi was used, which IMO would have warmed up the dish and gave it more depth of flavour and mask some of the sourness of the yogurt). The presentation was amazing though! DC got 'plates' from home depot (tiles) and copper tubing caps for egg holders. Creative! The melon paired nicely with the bacon...which was scrumptious!
A potluck for the little match girl passion children’s chorus was held yesterday, and it was a great success. Great food, great friends, and great dogs made the rainy evening fun and warm.
Having kids sing and act in the productions is a great way to let them realize their talents and introduce them to the world of music theater. One day, these children could become the stars of the show!
