The nightly ceremony of the last post being played at the Menin Gate in Ypres in Belgium.
On this occasion, the three buglers were accompanied by a piper.
the postman from Aussie Post waiting for the traffic lights at Windsor, Brisbane.
In Brisbane during the 1950s the mailman delivered letters to residences twice on Mondays to Friday and once on Saturdays. Now wih the claim of improved service a delivery is made only once per day Monday to Friday and sometimes you have to go yourself to the Post Office to collect your mail - and that's 21st century service.
There were, of course, less traffic lights in the 1950s and the postman walked or used a pushbike. In the 1950s the mailmen did not work for a corporation with a fancy brand, it was called the Postmaster General's Department.

One of my favorite pieces of design & illustration, for one of my favorite movies.
