Turkey vulture (Cathartes aura) also know as a Turkey buzzard. I saw him on a deer carcass off the road a piece. It flew off as I parked but after a fifteen minute wait, he returned and perched on this post. He wasn't too comfortable with me there.

Captured in the Hungerford Nature reserve at sunrise. Had to set up my tripod in the river (it is quite shallow) to capture this, much to the bewiderment of passing dog walkers. Used an ND 8 filter to capture the movment of the water. Post processing involved exposure blending in photoshop.
Taken at Blackie Spit Park, Surrey, British Columbia, CA.
Thank goodness my camera settings were adequate to catch this fellow well perched on a post for a quick snap before he moved on.
