Recently posted to Orkney is this Volvo recovery truck - Quite why is not apparent because according to a recent survey by Orkney Islands Council there have been no complaints about the local bus service since the introduction of the new buses paid for by the contract with Stagecoach.
There would have been logic to the recovery truck being posted to Orkney back when we had the million mile "Mushroomgate' coaches, but not now with a modern new fleet paid for by Orkney public money.

This was taken on the Brunswick green where each year a section is flooded to make a public skating rink. It was late January and there had been a bit of a thaw and that created a very nice mirror effect. I did some playing with colors and came of with this. the lamp is in front of a nice white cloud in the blue sky.
I have been watching these beauties since early spring, taking many very distant flight shots, that will never see the light of day.
Well a few days ago all that changed with two of them deciding to land next to me
These birds were ones I saw many times as a child, walking with my late father. We used to listen to their distinctive sound together. Now they bring back happy memories of our time together
