I took this during the extreme fog that we had this week and then fiddled with every imaginable slider in LIghtroom
My daughter took my editing station maybe a future artist..

Fooling around with the sliders. One of these will be for Sliders Sunday. This is my little Edinburgh crystal cup. HSS
The bird was about a hundred yards from our dock and the light was dimming. But I captured a number of shots of the Heron stretching its wings and neck. To make it a slightly more interesting photo, I composited four of them together into a single photo, using Photoshop.
A breeding male American Goldfinch visits the sunflower seed feeder in the yard, almost daring me to take his photo.
Spend all your time waiting
For that second chance
For a break that would make it okay
There's always one reason
To feel not good enough
And it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction
Oh beautiful release
Memory seeps from my veins
Let me be empty
And weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight

I made it to the triple digits! Yay! This is my one hundredth photo for my 365 Project. I hope this shows how I feel about my photos. Each one of them has come from some amazing place inside of me. I'm rejoicing at being able to share a slice of how I see the world with people who actually care and appreciate my efforts! You Flickr Friends I've made have meant everything. I'm sure I wouldn't continue if it weren't for the fun interactions I get rewarded with for even the suckiest photo. :) Thanks guys, for taking time to stop and share the world with me!
For Today's Random Fact from My So-Called Life: To celebrate, I'm taking my tween to the mall. A little bookstore browsing, a little ice cream, a little people watching. It's just what we need! Catch you all later ... and thanks again!
** Wow! ** Explored 13 August 2009 (# 96)! Thank you, everyone! What fun to have a photo I'm really proud of on Explore. :) Now if I can just quit thinking of things I'd like to "fix" in it .... LOL
Yangsho
Guangxi, China
I've fallen in love with the city of Yangshuo, China.
Surrounded by karst peaks and bordered on one side by the Li River, this bustling place has incredible nature, endless bike routes, traditional fishermen, bamboo rafts and plenty of English speaking residents - which is a rarity for China.

Let's Travel the World!
I've spent the past decade exploring our world; and documenting the journey in photos and stories. For all the latest updates, follow along on:

I'm not sad - but it's Sad Bokeh Friday so I photographed the rising sun through the dead branches of the almond tree in our garden. The tree isn't quite dead but it's dying I think ... which is sad.
I've wanted to use this quote for a while - I think it's funny in a bleak way and also quite true - so I chose it today because being out in the garden reminded me of the heroic feat of renewal each of us undertakes daily.
To make it look a little *sadder*, I adjusted colour in photoshop ... Even Sadder On Black

A real experiment in PP this. This is a shot of water from a fine mister spray bottle, two images overlaid, and then 'warped' in Lightroom by applying the lens profile of a fisheye lens to distort and stretch the edges. No end result in mind when I started this was just playing around with some images than were initially just playing with sunlight through the spray.

"I want to write my words on the face of today.
And then they'll paint it
And oh as I fade away,
They'll all look at me and they'll say,
Hey look at him and where he is these days.
When life is hard, you have to change".

N700 is the fastest trainset that makes the Tokaido Shinkansen run between Tokyo and Osaka. Notice the subtle differences in the nose area with the regular 700 series Shinkansen trainset.
Postprocessing of the previously posted picture, but coming back to it after a little while, I'm not sure it is an improvement.
I seem to go a little overboard with the curves when letting alone with Lightroom.
