As a result of ongoing health issues, I'll be posting a large number of photos. With maybe 20,000 photos not published on Flickr, my uploading will be filled with many architectural shots.

The Major William Harrison Mauldin House in Hampton, South Carolina currently is home to the Hampton County Administrative Center (200 Jackson Avenue East). This 2-story frame Italianate home dates from circa 1875 and is quite distinctive with its double verandas, which span most of the front facade on both stories. Topping the hip roof of the structure is an octagonal belvedere, a type of cupola especially to provide a good view. There are 4 corbelled brick chimneys. It has ornamental brackets in the cornice and the windows have a pedimented frame. The double-porch is below this. Supporting the roofs are square posts joined by a unique segmental arch at the top and by turned squat balusters at the bottom. The posts are embellished with an "X" on the "capital" and with triangular motifs midway down and at the bottom. Windows for the most part have 2/2 panes; but on the lower front porch, the windows are 2/2/2. Most also have a pedimented molding at the top and a scroll at the base. Flanking the entrance are abbreviated 1/1 sidelights; the transom appears to be a single light. The main building connects to a structure on the left side of the front facade; and this appendage had the same design features with the exception of a dormer with Palladian window. On the right side of the structure is a three-sided bay with windows exhibiting the dominant characteristics in the rest of the building.
The morning was foggy and atmospheric; I thought surely I'd see Spanish moss, but there was none. The building as of July 2018 needed some exterior maintenance. I did not go into the office areas. For some reason the large house is not on the National Register of Historic Places.
Maj. William Harrison Mauldin (1839-1900) was a very prominent figure in Hampton County and was instrumental in seeing the 1879 birth of the county itself. Among his many interests, aside from politics, was his formation and ownership of a logging railway, Hampton & Branchville RR.

I challenged myself to take 30 photos worth posting during my 5 hour flight from Honolulu to San Francisco.
after posting it, i realized it is not a good picture.. i could have taken a better angle at this.. and increased the contrast to give the picture a hard look.. may be, add grains too.. anyways.. done is done..
Sealed Post Office Posting Box
As more and more Post Offices move out of dedicated buildings into supermarkets etc, this familiar kind of postbox will become rarer. As the photo shows, this box is out of use now.

Sorry for not posting recently. From being sick, birthdays and overtime work at my day job I haven't had much time to. All of that is now behind me and it's back to my regularly scheduled program this is a closeup of my purple niobium and paracord bracelet I made. The niobium was hand shaped by me and I knotted the paracord to keep it in place but it is still able to spin around the cord #paracord #niobium #purple #wristport #armcandy #handmade #purpleniobium #coil #coils #paracordporn #paracordbracelet #jrjewelry via Instagram bit.ly/1mTrGzU

For this re-posting I have increased the size of the canvas especially the space the bird is looking into, I think this is a better composition.
8500'?? To think I was impressed - imagine flying that high! As a young mother, this was beyond exciting!
