November 23, 2024 at JGSDF Camp Himeji (Rehearsal of Camp Himeji 73th Anniversary Commemorative Event).
A large World War Two Machine Gun Emplacement, positioned along the coast at Europa Point. Constructed from concrete using wooden shuttering, with massively thick walls, approximately between 4 to five feet. Overall condition looks very good, some damage to the roof and possibly some post-war additions.
The emplacement has a chamfered corner with a pair of large stepped and splayed machine gun embrasures either side, providing cover towards and along the coast line. Behind the emplacement there is a lower section, this may possibly house ammunition lockers, but some of it may have been added at a later date, access appears to be over here with a split entrance for either internal chamber.
There's a lot of discussion over where the blocks should go; much depends on the pavement - the type of paving blocks, the various manhole covers to access water, electricity, etc.
