Visiting Cartagena around 10 yrs ago on a work trip - went out early to take some pics and realized I wouldn't make it back in time for breakfast so grabbed something from this food cart - a delicious Empanadas and a Pan de Bono - the latter is a biscuit made from yucca flour and filled with cheese. YUM! The owner of the cart positioned it based on my request to make a better picture.
The combination of walls, cliffs and sea allowed Dubrovnik, Croatia (Hrvatske) to repel all invaders for centuries. It's strategic location on the Adriatic Sea and it's secure position allowed the city to become wealthy. They never had an army or a navy, instead they used diplomacy and money to maintain their independence from more powerful rivals such as Venice and the Ottomans.

PS: Bad news. Last week, my old PC hard drive failed. Had to back up all my files and format the disk to clean it. It's not reliable but still working. So my stream slacks lately.

This kestrel (falco tinnunculus) was perched on a fencepost and gave me a glance as I positioned for a shot. Photographed near Llandrillo, Denbighshire, Wales.
The position of Hohenzollern Castle is impressive by itself. All around wide lowlands are reaching out and in the middle the castle is enthroned on its mountain. The builders couldn't have chosen a better place.
Due to my health condition, I am unable to hold or stabilize a camera for extended periods of time. Additionally, using a tripod has never been enjoyable for me, as it would cause pain when trying to position it correctly and constantly bending over to check the viewfinder. Consequently, I have chosen to explore digital AI artwork as an alternative. I understand that this may not be everyone's cup of tea, as it diverges from traditional photography. However, I have always granted myself the freedom to exercise artistic license and pursue whatever brings me joy. Currently, digital AI artwork fulfills that purpose, at least for the time being.

Hello Flickr friends ☺
Captured this scene a few years ago during a May sunrise (at 04:57).
Another one of those slightly cold (-1°Celsius) mornings where nature blessed us with calm winds and a powerful sun glow over mirror-like waters :-)
Found this tree branch (& reflection) positioned like a diamond (or an eye) and had to hurry and take some creative shots before any large ships passed the area (as their waves would most likely reposition the branch or knock it over... which is exactly what happened a little while later!)
(( update: Many people commenting on this photo say they see two arms with intertwined hands / fingers, crossed in the sun glow... and now I see that too! ))
The warm sun glow caused a pretty mist to rise upon the water, which made the scene even more lovely for me :-)
I captured this with my older Sony HX90V and cropped the photo quite a bit to remove land from the left side and also to reposition the 'Diamond Eye' from the center area.
Hope this golden glow brings a smile your way today :-)
Please remember (especially during this new year), even when we face dark days, the sun will always rise again... and shine on! ☀️
Thank you dear friends for all your kindness & support... you are greatly appreciated :-)
Wishing you all a wonderful 2021!

Caught scratching his neck with his right paw hence his unusual position.
I almost missed this guy folks could hardly see him the way he was positioned, which I thought was a nice in habitat image.
Thanks for everything, you cannot know how much it means.

"Turning back into the tide
Watching the beach from the other side
We swim with the moon
To an island in the black lagoon
Dreaming as the hours fade away
Watching as the sunlight does the same
Everything we are is on the line
Let's pretend it's not us tonight
Can't get away..."

I may not have to venture far for colors in the near future... like to Lowes or Home Depot, hahaha..... as I'm starting to see signs of Spring in my own back yard. These are crocuses that have come up in my flowerbed. They're really yellow, but I had fun "tweaking" them and this was the final result. Hope you like it.
If anyone wants to see the "before" version, there's a small version below in the 1st comment area.

I positioned this bright white Clematis to cheer up a dark corner in the garden. It has turned out to be quite stunning !
Unfortunately, I was not able to see this guy pupate. It happened in the wee hours of the morning when I was still snug in my bed. However, there is a beautiful Chrysalis hanging from this leaf now. I’ll post that picture tomorrow. Good luck on your transformation Monarch!
Positioned around a mile and a half from where we were staying, Tarn Hows is a picturesque Tarn which is visited by over half a million visitors who walk around it.
Our visit this time was an eye opener. As we approached, Marc became terrified. Only a couple of years ago, I pushed Marc around this tarn in his wheelchair and we enjoyed the nature of the landscape. It was quite a push in his manual wheelchair - though it is advertised as accessible, in truth, motorised scooters or wheelchair are needed.
As we approached and reached this point, there is a sharp downhill stretch of road bending around a hidden curve. Marc's grip on the seat at the side of me tightened and his knuckles turned white. "stop, stop, stop" he screamed!
I pulled over, but he did not relax. I managed a quick photo out of the car window, but headed back the way we came, with the terror left behind.
What triggered this reaction to somewhere we had been previously remains unknown. I know his condition is worsening and maybe it was the journey making him travel sick, maybe his poor eyesight is affecting him in a greater way, maybe he was having a seizure, and absence, right at that moment which sent him into a panic, maybe ...
sometimes we never find out the cause of a reaction like this, but we have a photograph, and as we look back at it now, he can laugh at his memory of my stopping the car and turning around.
From here, we went back to the village, and had some Grasmere Gingerbread. After a calmer wheel-walk around the village. Calm returned.
Have a lovely day everyone :-))
