DAY 2 of the Formula Ford 50th Anniversary Race Weekend and after a Really Fast Action Packed array of Cars in both Mazda and Formula Ford Racing and Qualifying on Saturday it was time for Sunday and to find out who would be Crowned the Formula Ford Champion of 2021.
AMOC GT / GT4 & Intermarque (Qualifying)
First up on the Sunday for Qualifying was The AMOC GT/GT4 Championship and with a Grid of Just 5 Cars for this One its going to be Very Interesting to see out of the 5 Drivers who Can set the Quickest Pace During Qualifying. Lets Find Out who took Pole and the Fastest Lap.
In First Place taking Pole Position and the Fastest Lap was the Duo Pair of Rikki Cann and Samuel Wilson) in their Aston Martin V8 Vantage with a Best Lap Time of 1:00.791 and a Top Speed of 71.53mph. Fantastic Work both Ricky and Rob Really Pushing the Aston Martin Hard and Gunning fort that All Important Victory come the First Race.

Amazing Job there Ricky Really Working Hard Behind the Wheel to Keep that Aston in the Lead Thought the Entire Race with some Beautifully Controlled Driving as well.

Three-Position Air Rifle Shooting is the most popular and fastest growing form of shooting sports competition for youth of high school age or younger. Two different Three-Position Air Rifle events are available. Precision Air Rifle is modeled after Olympic-style shooting and allows the use of specialized target rifles and equipment. Sporter Air Rifle is designed for new competitors or those who desire to compete with a minimum of equipment and expense.
In both types of shooting, competitors fire at targets at a distance of 10 meters in three different positions, prone, standing and kneeling. Strategically positioned on the northern banks at the entrance to the River Tyne, Tynemouth (Castle) Battery was the primary coastal defences protecting the important industrial centre of Newcastle. Almost in constant use since the 18th Century, what remains today is a selection of infrastructure representative of the last 150 years of coastal artillery development.
The earliest remains on site are the northernmost of six positions, constructed in 1893 to mount a 6 inch BL Mark. VI gun. This was one of two original BL guns on the site.
The next major upgrade to the battery was in 1902 when two 6 inch BL Mk. VII guns were installed, and two 12 pounder positions were also constructed, directly covering the entrance to the river against smaller, faster moving craft. Finally in 1904 a single 9.2 inch BL Mk. X position was constructed, destroying one of the earlier 6 inch positions.
The site was decommissioned in 1956 with the disbandment of the Coastal Artillery Regiment.
The site was operational during both the First World War and Second World War, with no major rebuilding of the battery structures.
While little evidence remains of the associated structures within the castle walls, the magazines and stores for the selection of armaments do remain. The site is under the custodianship of English Heritage who have sympathetically restored aspects of the battery and which can be visited.
