at least, am gonna tell the story about this picture, so that u could really see that it´s "unnice". The place was awesome: La Alhambra in Granada, Spain. This was a place where people weren´t allowed to be in (off course!! cause it´s not nice!!), but i went anyway through these arcades (there were many) and ask Dan to take me a picture there. I didnt know that the light was so awful, but the thing is, that when I took pictures, it seems to be that i always do this position, so we called it "the k position".
Less interesting? bleh! :)

This is a quick way to get the offset measurement of a fork. Put the fork face down and set it level. Measure from the centre (that way even if it is not perfectly level the difference is insignificant).
Then repeat the procedure with the fork face up.
Subtract the lower figure from the higher and divide by 2 to get the offset.

We start our final day in Indy with breakfast out and my hosts all take up their usual pre-meal positions., reading, drawing and on the phone.
On September 11, 1777, General George Washington was determined to prevent the British from capturing the American seat of government, Philadelphia. Taking up positions along Brandywine Creek, Washington mistakenly believed that his army blocked all fords across the Brandywine.
Opposing Washington was Sir William Howe and an army of 15,500 British Regulars and Hessian troops. Hidden by heavy fog, the British moved into position. General Wilhelm von Kynphausen was ordered to demonstrate against the Americans’ front at Chadds Ford, while the bulk of Howe’s forces crossed the Brandywine further upstream.
The battle had been raging for hours by the time Howe's force appeared undetected on the Continental right flank. Washington dispatched troops under General John Sullivan and William Alexander, “Lord Stirling,” to shore up his right flank. However, despite putting up a stiff resistance, the Continentals were eventually overrun by Howe’s men.
Simultaneously, Knyphausen’s troops hit the American units that remained near the Quaker meeting house at Chadds Ford. Washington’s line collapsed.
To prevent the defeat turning into disaster Washington ordered Nathanael Greene’s division to act as a rear-guard so that the Continental Army could escape to the northeast. Greene’s brave men counterattacked, going toe-to-toe with British along the crest of Birmingham Hill. When night fell, the remaining Americans fell back in an orderly retreat, led in part by the Marquis de Lafayette. Although wounded, the charismatic young Frenchman remained on the field to ensure an organized withdrawal.
The crushing defeat allowed the British to occupy Philadelphia, but the bulk of the Continental army survived to fight another day.
Mang tower
Type: Signal and observation tower
Position: 47 ° 32'40 "N - 9 ° 41'01" E
Height of building: 20 m
Operating time: 1230 - 1856
The Mang tower was part of the historic city wall of Lindau. On a stone plaque on the wall of the Mangturm it is written, "This tower called the Mangenturm was built in the 12th century as a beacon, protection and stronghold of our seaport, a strong landmark of the former free imperial city of Lindau".
When the new lighthouse in Lindau was completed in 1856, the Mangturm lost its function as a signal and observation tower.
The tower on the lake promenade has been raised by one floor and covered with eye-catching, glazed tiles. At night, the square stone construction and its new yellow upper floor are illuminated with LED facade spotlights from top to bottom with a streak of light. Occasionally events such as fairy tale readings or puppet shows take place in the Mangturm.
Mangturm
Typ: Signal- und Beobachtungsturm
Position: 47°32'40" N - 9°41'01" E
Bauwerkshöhe: 20 m
Betriebszeit: 1230 - 1856
