First Up onto the Circuit was The Intermarque Silhouettes and Thease Machines are Very Quick and Built to be as Light Weight as Possible by Using a Space Frame Chassis and a Fibreglass Body.

The Mini's were Up Next and After Some Incredible Racing Yesterday which Saw the Likes of Rupert Deeth Take 1st with Scott Kendall 2nd and Colin Peacock 3rd it was Going to be an Intense Battle at the Front of the Field.
The Likes of Endaf Owens was Also Prepared after an Engine Failure During Yesterdays Race Which Many thought would put him out of Contention for Today..........However With Some Incredible Overnight Work by Him and His Fellow Mechanics as well as a Late Night Trip to Wales and Back to Pick Up a Spare Engine, Endaf and His Dedicated Team Have Managed to Get his Car Ready for Race 2. As The Light Fell away from the Circuit The Britcar Endurance Championship made its way out onto the circuit with Lights a Blaze and a lot of Energy coming from both the Drivers and their Cars This was Going to be a Race of Endurance and Car Management thought the 45 Minutes of the Race.

Start with first position. First position is arguably the easiest basic ballet position. Stand with your feet together, ensuring your heels touch. Then, turn each leg outward so your feet are perpendicular to your torso. The F 400 Carving is also the showcase for a totally new form of lighting technology developed by the Stuttgart-based researchers: fibre-optic lines are used to transmit light from xenon lamps beneath the bonnet to the main headlamps. This technology stands out by virtue of its high performance and extremely space-saving design.
Additional headlamps positioned on the sides also come on when the car is cornering.

This is one of a pair of World War Two Double Machine Gun Posts, positioned either side of a former railway line, the Machine Gun Post is an adaptation of a design from 1936, they were part of the Anti-Invasion Defences around the North Norfolk Coast and are commonly found around the area. The overall structure measures approximately 21ft by 18ft, constructed using wooden shuttering and poured concrete giving a Bullet-Proof Wall thickness of 15in (the wood grain can still be clearly seen in the concrete in some cases) there are some examples with thicker 24in wall. This Double Machine Gun Post version has two seperate Enclosed Chambers conjoined at an angle of 135° with a Machine Gun Embrasure in each Chamber, the Embrasures are fitted with Turnbull Gun Mounts.
Being slightly sunken steps lead down to an L-Shaped Blast Wall which has a Rifle Loophole, a a bung wall runs around the Entrance, to stop flooding from the marshland. A Full Height Entrance leads into the interior of the Machine Gun Post were there is an internal Anti-Ricochet Wall splitting the two Chambers. The grass top Camouflage is still in situ and growing, overall condition looks very good, slightly overgrown with vegetation.
Found around the North Norfolk coast, there are four pairs of Double Machine Gun Posts and several version as a Single Machine Gun Post, adapted from a modified 1936 design. The Double version has two Chambers conjoined at 135° with a Machine Gun Embrasure in each, the Entrance has a Blast Wall with a Rifle Loophole for protection. The wall thickness is 15in which is only bullet proof, but there is also a thicker 24in version.

Jim again, shown here in one of his funny positions. Before he came to live with us, he'd been injured in an RTA, and had undergone a femoral head ostectomy (basically, surgical excision of the traumatically broken-off ball at the top of the back leg). A cat's pelvis is too delicate to allow pinning of the joint, and the top of the leg forms a 'phantom joint' in the scar tissue. In Jim's case, this doesn't appear to have compromised his mobility at all, but he has the advantage of being young, fit, and relatively lightly built. But he does end up sitting in some pretty odd positions as a result. That's Ginger on the right of the picture, having a snooze after supper.

SR King Arthur Class 4-6-0 No. 777 'Sir Lamiel' stops just clear of the Beeches Road Bridge on a positioning move at Loughborough during the 3rd day of Great Central Railway's Autumn Steam Gala on 3rd October 2015.
A World War One Circular Pillbox positioned to Defend the Pumping Station and water control mechanisms at Barthorp's Creek, the Pillbox is in a very poor condition, with two large cracks, which are each supported by an extra buttress and its very overgrown. Constructed from reinforced concrete and steel in a circular plan, the slightly domed concrete roof with some of it's earth camouflage still in place, has a pair of railway tracks running through for reinforcement, and the corrugated sheet shuttering is mostly still in position but very corroded.
Access is through a Half-Height Entrance, but there appears to be no sign of any Armoured Steel Doors being fitted. During World War Two, one of the Loopholes had it's rectangular shape altered into a square, and an additional Loophole added, both of these having 'Turnbull Gun Mounts' fitted, to Defend the exit from the beach area. Making this old Pillbox part of a World War Two Strongpoint, was located at an important Strategic Point on Barthorp's Creek in order to Defend the Pumping Station and water control mechanisms for Oxley Marshes and the crossing point in the event of an Invasion. The Strongpoint consisted of a number of different features constructed over a number of years, from Aug 1941 a number of different Defences were in place, including the Barbed Wire Circuit that surrounded the Strongpoint, a line of Anti-Tank Blocks forming part of the Defences and Road Block along the coastal side of the Emplacement, a small area was layed as a Minefield, also on the coastal side of the the Strongpoint were other structures in the central area around the sluice. A Slit Trench was excavated near the tree cover at the northern end of the enclosure, and by October 1941 a short but substantial, bank and trench feature was added on the eastern side, although it is difficult to determine whether they were of a Military nature ?
The Strongpoint along with its Barbed Wire and Slit Trenches, also contained a number of structures including three Pillboxes, a Type-22 Pillbox at TM-3673 4392, a World War One Circular one at TM-3681 4390 and an unusual Admiralty Design Square Pillbox at TM-3686 4396.
This rudimentary defensive position may have served as the command bunker for a battery of anti-aircraft guns in this location. It it sited near the highest point, in close proximity to one of the Rh-202 guns still in situ (presumed to be close to the original position) and would have been large enough for the compliment of command and signals staff required. It is larger than the standard single or two-man positions found elsewhere.

It took us about 2 hours to collect and position the rocks, but was a fun little project and we had quite a few people taking photos to spread the word.
Being on Petone Beach when the tide recedes is a lesson in the carelessness and waste of our generation. Every type of rubbish imaginable washes ashore here, ugly and maddening to see.
There is too much waste, too much plastic that we use in this throw-away society. Finding little ways to cut down on your waste is very easy. Start with something as simple as refusing straws when you're at a restaurant or bringing your own bags when you buy groceries.
Petone Beach
This is a photograph from the second running of the newly situated Irish 3/4 Marathon (formerly the Athlone 3/4) which was held in Longwood, Enfield, Co. Meath, Ireland on Sunday 8th of October 2017 at 10:00. The event is positioned perfectly in the calendar as a key training race before the Dublin City Marathon at the end of the month. This year was the second year that the event was held in Longwood, Co. Meath which is now well known for its hosting of the Longwood 10KM/5KM annual races and a host venue for East of Ireland Marathon series marathons on a bi-annual basis. The race started and finished at Longwood GAA club just outside the village of Longwood. It followed an anti-clockwise course around the beautiful picturesque countryside of south Meath. The course went through the townlands of Longwood, Castlerickard, Killyon, Hill-of-Down, Anneville and Ashfield Clonard, Blackshare, Stoneyford and back to Longwood. The river Boyne and Blackwater were crossed as was the Royal Canal and the Dublin-Sligo Railway line at Hill-of-Down. Overall this was a very different course to the previous years in Athlone. The overall elevation of the course works out at 3/4 of the total elevation of the Dublin Marathon course. What most stood out about today's race was the course and how the countryside around it looked on a beautiful almost perfect Autumn morning. There was a large local effort with stewarding and many local people watched from their gardens as the race passed by. The organisation of the race was first class with every detail taken care of from the start until the finish. There was some rain showers from about 13:00 onwards but these soon passed.

Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

Iowa Wild host Meet The Team at Pole Position Raceway, Grimes, Iowa December 14th, 2022

Today, Match 321, the coveted Rifle Excellence in Competition Match was held.
Competitors fired 50 rounds in five stages. Stage One was done in the prone firing
position at 400 yards. Competitors used a 10-round magazine to shoot their targets at a
sustained firing rate within two minutes. Stage Two was done in the prone firing position
at 300 yards. Competitors shot 10 rounds from two 5-round magazines at their targets
at a rapid firing rate within 60 seconds. Stage Three was done in the kneeling firing
position at 200 yards. Competitors shot 10 rounds from two 5-round magazines at a
rapid firing rate within 50 seconds. Stage Four done from the 100-yard line. Competitors
shot 5 rounds from the standing position then transitioned to the kneeling positon,
switched magazines and shot 5 more rounds at their targets. This was completed within
40 seconds. Stage Five was a Close Quarter Engagement stage. Competitors shot a
total of 10 rounds from a single magazine. They had four seconds to fire as many
rounds as desired at targets from the 75-yard line. They then had three seconds to do
the same from the 50-yard line. Finally, they engaged targets at the 25-yard line. The
goal was to put five rounds into each target at each yard line.
Match 221 is a Pistol Excellence-in-Competition Match comprised of four stages.
During this match, competitors fired a total of 40 rounds from 5-round magazines. Stage
One was a standing, unsupported position with a slow rate of fire at 30 yards.
Competitors shot 10 rounds from two 5-round magazines within 60 seconds. Stage Two
was done at the 25-yard line. Competitors shot 5 rounds in the kneeling firing position,
then transitioned to prone firing before shooting five more rounds from a new magazine.
They had 45 seconds fire all ten rounds. Stage Three was done from the standing,
unsupported firing position at the 20-yard line. Competitors fired 10 rounds from two 5-
round magazines within 20 seconds. Stage Four was done in the standing firing
position. Competitors shot 10 rounds two 5-round magazines from the 15-yard line
within 15 seconds.
Link and Frank are already upstairs. When Jimmy Dean wants to go upstairs he stands like this, looking upstairs, waiting for me to lift him and carry him. He has never done stairs in the house.
The end of the second main track at the new South Paxton control point begins to take shape as IC's track department positions the new connection to the single-track section being created this morning, May 30, 1990.
