I took this portrait for my daughters campaign for City Council last year. She won!!!

On Friday I was invited to hold a workshop for the Grande Prairie Photo Club on portraiture. The club did a great job organizing a whole range of talent in a unique venue: the Grande Prairie Museum and Heritage Village.

As the afternoon progressed and all the participants were busy photographing their subjects, I observed this man wandering through the historical village, checking out the buildings from a different era, and the general excitement of the afternoon with all the photography going on.

His face...it caught my attention. What a face. So I approached him, and asked if he minded me taking his portrait.

I was nervous that he would dismiss me, and think I was nuts...but to my surprise and happiness, he beamed.

"What, this old guy...a model? Sure thing."

I caught his name before he disappeared into the next building. But if anyone out there in Grande Prairie knows him I'd love to get a print of this image to him or his family.

Hell! Couldn't even get one eye open this week. Maybe time for a new model...or photographer.
