After the shuttles were retired, they were flown over major cities around the US before reaching their final resting places.

This is the shuttle's initial approach into Washington over Memorial Bridge. I was on the bridge, stuck in traffic, when the shuttle flew almost directly overhead. I grabbed my camera and got the shot through the open window.

Sunset from my roof - Capitol Hill

This isn't an image for comments re the image; it's here for my rant about the new flickr.

I hate it. I can summarise my hatred of elements in particular:

- my home screen is now just a montage of my photos. I know what they look like; I want to see them with some key stats listed as it used to be. I also want to have some control over the presentation to others.

- I hate the default screen layout for a single image. The bulk of the screen looks like the Lightbox used to and the comments are off screen below. I have to expand to see older comments and the comment box itself is ridiculously small. It is clearly not for people like me that like to make few, but detailed comments - sorry for the waffle ;-)

I also hate the EXIF data issues, etc, but they are secondary to the other elements which are core usability issues in my mind.

I really want to move to another site, but need ideas!

This was also completed for an A-level project. This was the first portrait I had drawn in a little while and so chose a media I am more confident with. I especially wanted to focus on the light and dark of the hair, and areas of the skin that I would leave page-blank, so as to practice not overworking the pencils. Completed using a ranged pencil set of around 6B - 4H

This was part of a portfolio building project To produce high quality agency standard photographs in 3 sets, Head-shot, high fashion & lingerie. This is the 1st part, getting the images and these are the 3 I picked, these may change after professional consultation on all the images I have. This are unedited as the next stage is professional quality retouching. Would love to hear comments and critique.

I recently launched a new portfolio site at peterbaker.net. I'd love it if you had a look. As is typical with people's portfolios, it took way too long – and some embarrassment – to finally update.

I've finally incorporated this blog in to my main site, with a bit of redirecting of the Tumblr-hosted urls. And I've also got a little store on the site where I'll be selling prints and assorted goods.

And in celebration of this relaunch, and said storefront, I'm selling 6 prints made this year for $10. There are only 5 of each, so get them while you can.
