26 May 2009. Water leak in Havelock Road N17.

Please see the photo I took yesterday. It shows what seems to be a slow water leak in the roadway in Havelock Road N17 at the junction with Thackeray Avenue. The shop in the photo is the Thackeray Mini Market. They told me they thought the water had been leaking nearly a week.
I doubt there is a risk of flooding. Water is slowly flowing into a drain gully a few metres further south. But as well as wasting water, this will eventually damage the road surface.
If the leak hasn't yet been inspected and Thames Water contacted, can this be arranged quickly, please.
My records show that I and Cllr Lorna Reith have reported similar problems at this location - e.g. leaks or blocked drain gullies - since at least 2003. So the (literally) underlying problem needs to be tackled.
I am posting this picture today because it is the opposite of what the weather is like right now. It has been raining here for pretty much 3 days straight. I don't mind it so much, but it is hard to get out and shoot.

We checked in for two nights at the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort. It is conveniently located in Līhu‘e. The huge swimming pool was very popular with some of the more aquatic members of our family (more pool pinholes coming).
Info on the Resort and its amenities can be found on their website here.

I never quite know where I stand in my house. I find Matchbox cars in the refrigerator, rocks in the washing machine, dirty socks under the couch cushions, rubber snakes under the kitchen table... so I wasn't much surprised to find Joe hanging out poolside, providing solid government protection to the kids.
As long as he behaved himself and didn't shoot out the inflatables, I was cool with his presence.
