Week Twenty-Nine ~ Poolside Palm

Our lyrical prompt for Week 29 of The Photographer Within's P52 was from Kodachrome by Paul Simon and the lyrics we had to shoot were: "You give us those nice bright colors, you give us the green of summer." Our new home has a backyard pool, surrounded one one side by several small palm trees. Nothing screams summer to me more than a tropical palm frond!

Looks like a same-old-problem. Hopefully the pooling will be solved by unblocking a drain gully and not need digging up the roadway. Again.

§ Our friend Martin Ball walked past this puddle on the afternoon of 24 September 2016. He said water was slowly going down the surface drain. There's been no rain since I took the photo. Which suggests at least a need for the drain gully pot to be cleaned. If possible before the next heavy rain.

Poolside at a long forgotten sports park and campground. There is an underground chairlift here that I have yet to explore.

"Pluck this little flower and take it, delay not! I fear lest it

droop and drop into the dust.

I may not find a place in thy garland, but honour it with a touch of

pain from thy hand and pluck it. I fear lest the day end before I am

aware, and the time of offering go by.

Though its colour be not deep and its smell be faint, use this flower

in thy service and pluck it while there is time."
