Phone by the pool...but there is no longer a pool and doesn't look like there has been one there for a while.

Kruger National Park, South Africa

This was taken at Freshwater Pool on Sydney Northern beachs

I'm back at a familiar place: the garden and pool at the monthly T-girl party that I always visit. It's not that warm today so all other girls are indoors but it's still nice to go outside, get some fresh air and make some nice Flickr pixies.

The pool area creates an extension of the first floor, which is cut across on the diagonal, yet open because of the glass wall.

A pool in the Creed River near Stornoway. This time I brought my tripod along, as I was testing out ND32 and CPL filters. Used the latter on this pic.

Nikon D5000 with 16-85mm lens. 2 shot HDR in Photomatix. Cropped and developed in Lightroom.

Abandoned indoor pool.

What a sincere stare. Love the pastel colours though.

This one took quite a bit of processing to achieve, as I didn't follow standard procedure to create it. Normally, you would position the camera in one spot with a tripod and take multiple exposures, insuring you had enough depth of field and shutter speed to capture the action clearly. You then layer the images and "paint in" the motion from each frame. In my case, I was using a telephoto lens and was tracking the subject, so my images were not overlapping. Luckily, Photoshop is powerful enough to help you align layers, and then using some other tools I was able to get the image I wanted. Not the easiest method to obtain this result, but it worked.

This small pool was formed during a volcanic eruption in 1973 at Wai-o-Tapu in the Rotorua area of New Zealand's North Island. It is named for the pale scalloped silica deposits around its rim, which resemble an oyster shell.

Although small, it continues to be highly active. The acidic water is permanently near-boiling.

The area has some 3 km of walking tracks which work their way round a variety of geothermal features. It is a commercial enterprise, but well worth the money.

Playing around with different focus points and DOF.

Fill flash was also used using a 580EX bounced off ceiling.

This was a really, really fun shoot!

At Phootcamp 2010. The bike actually came from the factory with "The Fury" painted on the side.

She jumped off the diving board, repeatedly and fearlessly, into 12 feet (3.6 meters) deep water and then swam to the edge. The boy did it too, with just a little help. I'm busting with pride.
