This pool on Dartmoor is said by some to be bottomless. Others say it is only a few metres deep.

They could both be more or less right, as it is believed to be a flooded tin mine. So most of it might be only a few metres deep, but it is likely to have a shaft or shafts going down 80 metres or more.

Eylesbarrow mine shaft is only 3km away and there is good evidence the shaft there is 80m deep.

Pool Party

Residents and prospective residents of the Highland Woods community in Elgin enjoyed an exciting pool party, complete with grilled foods, ice cream, leis, a magician, a steel drum band and games for the kids on Saturday, June 22.
